I have been on Atkins since 01/05 and have lost 22 lbs. However, in the last few weeks I have lost my discipline on many occasions. I have tried being at induction levels for a day or two but managed to slip up on the weekend. I have gained about 3 lbs back. I think I am going to go back on indiuction for two weeks. I enjoy the discipline and it will get my mind back on this WOE. I workout 5 days a week but recently I have given into cookies, candies and ice cream and yesterday ate bread for the first time. I love this WOE and believe in it I just need to get my mind back on track and disciplined. To those veterans out there is this the right thing to do?

It is also back to induction for me this morning. I wasn't terribly bad this weekend (date night with hubby). funny thing is I am still turning pink on the strips so I don't know if it knocked me out of ketosis??? I just go back to "clean" eating for a few days. don't give up I have been stalled since I came out of induction and so has hubby but the inches have been coming off. I started this woe on 8jan04 and thought I would have lost more.

ME TOO, I started the same day you did and have had a few slips most recently, I don't know what is making me do this? I was doing so well, it just makes me feel horrible... but I haven't lost as much as you, just 12 lbs, but to gain back 3, is a HUGE set back, so YES back to induction I / we should go!

I would love to have lost 22 lbs since the beginning of the year.
but I am back on induction today, post-vacation. Although I finally seemed to have broken the stall over vacation!
I pretty much ignored veggies and water last week, and my stix is showing me out of k - first time since I started.

so, I am inducting also. probably not for the full 2 weeks, but enough to get back on track.

Can I join ? I started in July and lost almost 30 lbs. Over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday I cheated BIG TIME ! I have not been able to get going again. I would always say "one roll won't hurt" well I gained back about 6 lbs. I started walking again and am venturing down my basement to use my gazelle. (no heat , it's still cold down there) I just have to buckle down and get moving.

How come when you mix water and flour together You get glue... and then you add eggs and sugar... and you get cake? Where did the glue go?

ANSWER?
You know darned well where it went! That's what makes the cake ... stick to your BUTT

I'm wondering, though, is this a symptom of close to 3 months on Atkins. I'm having the same problem, giving into temptation. I don't know if I'm in ketosis or not, since I haven't checked since induction. I am, however, working out, drinking tons of water (at least 130 ozs. daily) and for the majority of the week I am adhering to LCE. It's just that, esp. on the weekends, i tend to eat something or another that's not low carb.
Again, my question is, is this a "3 month syndrome"? Vets, please let us know!! And if you have the antedote, pass it along!!

Hi...I am about three months also, and I have been having the same issues...though the items I have chosen to cheat with have been LC ice cream and a few bites of brownie mix I made for a coworker that is leaving. I haven't had one brownie....but I licked the bowl (.

I have not gained anything and am still in ketosis.....but I feel I should have lost more.

C'mon vets, is this a common occurance after about 3 months of LCing? Do you get over it eventually?

Something that puzzles me is that most people on Atkins would normally eat 100s of grams of carbs a day. Even if they slip up and eat the odd extra 30 or 40 carbs here or there shouldn't they still lose weight. I have been exercising daily and in general following a LC diet yet I have not lost a pound in 30 days. If the odd cheat knocks you that far off track then I wonder why one wouldn't stay on the induction phase for a longer period. It seems most people lose the majority of their weight in the first several months while in induction. After that it seems we tend to almost come to a standstill. This is hard to work through when you have 70 lb to lose. I would have expected to have lost more than I have even with the occasional slip ups. I calculated on a normal pre-Atkins day I would have probably consumed 600 + grams of carbs, now I eat 30 grams.
