Splenda vs. sucralose?

"Ongoing Weight Loss" at Low Carb Diet Support: "Is this the same thing? I'm on my way to the supermarket and want to have the right sugar to make a dessert tonight....."

Sucralose is the generic name for the stuff. Splenda is what McNeil calls their version of it. If I could FIND sucralose without it being Splenda I'd buy it in a heartbeat just to thumb my nose at McNeil for putting the kybosh on anybody selling the liquid concentrate!

They really steam me.....

Splenda is made with sucralose, however I remember reading a post somewhere in here regarding the content of all of the artificial sweeteners, and the splenda contains fillers (Maltodextrin?) in order to make it the same teaspoon/teaspoon for cooking purposes etc. Those fillers may have an adverse effect. I am going to switch to sucralose.
