I am at 40gs of carbs a day now and adding in things I had stopped eating just to get there--I had LC toast with splenda and cinnamon this morning with 1/2 cup cottage cheese and a shake for breakfast instead of the usual chicken salad with cheese cubes. Usually breakfast is about 3 carbs today it was 13! Lunch is typically about 10 and dinner is around 8--tonight I got it clear to 15 with spaghetti squash and spaghetti sauce, 1/2 cup of blueberries and raspberries mixed and whipped cream with a snack of pork skins and salsa con queso. MMMMMMM. . .I thought I had to swear off toast with cinnamona nd sugar--splenda works great and tastes great too! Salsa con queso has some sugar but it is excellent on pork rinds--maybe better than on corn chips! It has 5 carbs per serving--2TBS but it is my one indulgence right now! and so far no side effects--unlike most of the SF candies!

Husker,
I envy you!
I know that I should also be at 40 but just cant seem to get there. I am going to go buy and try the LC bread this weekend. This mornings breakfast was only like 7 carbs. I have trouble hitting 10 per meal ( we have discussed this elswhere) I am just always so full that I have NO desire to snack between meals (except for an occasional LC chocolate around THAT time) I am getting to 32 or 33 a day so it is an improvement.

Congrats to you on getting up there in carbs.

A good, sweet, healthy snack that will give you about 10 carbs is a yellow bell pepper. I like to keep several bags (1 bag per pepper in spears) available for a snack. Completely natural, but a good carb increaser.

it is a very refreshing, satisfying snack (and I don't like veggies)

Mary Kay,
Thanks for the great carb increasing advice. This is just what I needed. Just one thing to add enough carbs for the day. Thanks!
Amy

I can't seem to add any carbs at all without gaining. I have been at the weight I want for at least 3 months, but I can't add anything without gaining.. I put on 3 pounds and it took me 6 weeks to lose 2 of it..I haven't managed to get more then 20 carbs per day, and for the last week I have not even went up to the 20 carbs.. The last two days I had a total of 14 carbs and gained one of the pounds back. I don't understand what the problem is.. I do not snack... I do not eat anything I am not suppose to eat..I have been absolutely faithful to this diet.. I don't eat sweets or starches, or any of the things I'm not suppose to eat. My body says I am where I should be.. I feel great about my weight, but I can't get rid of those few pounds. I can't increase my carbs without gaining. I am getting so frustrated!

Lou,

It sounds like your body has become hypersensitive to carbs and since they have been so low for awhile. Your body is going into starvation mode and is holding onto anything it can. Another thing to consider is are you getting enough water?

Right now, you need to probably add some high fiber veggies and increase your water. However, if you are at or near goal, then your weight is going to come off slowly. You need to shake up your body's response a little. Maybe eat higher carbs (20-30) 2-3 days a week and lower (20 or under) the other days so your body won't hold onto the weight so much.

JMHO.
