OK I just need to rant for a minute.

We are planting thousands of baby trees tomorrow morning. My husband said someone is making spaghetti and pizza for lunch (which you know we'll be starvin'!). He smiled and said "Lots of carbs for ya.", then told me to BE POLITE knowing I DON'T eat this food anymore.

Well, I'm sorry, but it's NOT polite to my thighs, tummy, or butt to eat these foods!

ARGHH!

I don't know what to do, but I do know that I am NOT going to eat ANYTHING carb laden!!!

Oh and deleriously happy cause I am down one whole pound this morning - and I feel like I don't just belong to the Glacier Club, I AM their president!!!

Take the pizza and unceremoniously pick all the toppings off and aat only them. It is horribly messy, but it is the things you can eat--I have done this to three pieces when that was my only choice.

Try eating before you go, and take a snack with you. Not sure what else you can do, but if being polite means eating what you can't on this wol, then, I "personally, lol" wouldn't be polite. I wouldn't scream and yell, but just pleasantly keep myself busy while everyone else is getting "bigger, ok they are eating, lol

I know it will be hard, but not impossible.

If you do this, make sure you don't eat the sauce that is very very high in carbs. Just my honest opinion.

I feel your pain. I have a meeting tomorrow and will be surrounded by high carb food. I have my little cooler all ready to pack in the morning and am taking plenty of bottled water with me. -- They can think whatever -- I am going to have my food with me.

Good luck

That's how I feel, if you care sooooo much about what I'm eating or not eating, then you have the problem, lol That's just me!

Wehn yo pluck the toppings off--most of the sauce stays on the bread you get some of it,b ut not nearly all of it! I have done it on two occasions and not had it cause problems with my weight loss so I assumed I didn't get enough sauce to matter--I can also honestly say that while some sauce has really high carb counts some does not--Ragua nd Carb control spaghetti sauce have exactly the same amount! Pizza sauce I looked at had like 7 per 1/4 cup with 1 g of fiber. Spaghetti sauce I use (Ragu flavored with meat) has 7 carbs with 2 fiber for a net of 7 and so does Carb Control sauce but carb control costs about twice waht Ragu does for the same size jar. . .

It should be 5 with the 2 of fiber right? If I'm wrong, I'm in trouble.

But is there any with less?

Thank you for all your good advice, like always!

I think I will pack a lunch sack with hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks, and maybe some tuna salad. I can eat these when they are snacking on carbs during the day.

During lunch, I will eat the toppings off the slice of pizza and feed the leftovers to one of my sons..lol (like puppies, they'll eat anything!) Then I won't feel "guilty" for leaving food on my plate! Why should I have to feel guilty though?...lol

my mistake--net shuld read 5. I haven't found any with less than 5. That is a 1/2 cup serving so that really isn't too bad. Pizza sauces I haven't looked into that much--don't make pizza often enough to worry about it. I just found it interesting that the touted low carb stuff sitting right next to my choice of sauce was over a $1 more and had exactly the same numbers as Ragu (my choice). I add a pound of hamburger to the sauce and that adds more flavor to it too--as well as aobut a TBS of crushed garlic either fresh or minced in the jar not dried. MMMMMMM!!! My daughter loves it and so do I and my dh.

I agree with all the above answers, lol! People who are non supportive are not worth losing sleep over. Take a small salad, and enjoy the pizza toppings. And hey thanks to huskersfan for mentioning the Ragu. I've been aiming to compare brands. wonder if homemade would average out to the same Carbs?????

Last month I went to a potluck and brought something I knew I could eat--and other people liked it, too. Don't be at the mercy of other people's menus, take control of what you eat. Sounds like your husband needs a bit more education!

(I just got a mental image of a bunch of fat ladies ganging up on your husband until he gives in...)
