Well, as many of you know, I have been around these parts since Jan. 2003...yes, I'm a dinosaur...LOL Anyway, to make a long story short, I just finished Atkins's induction for the 3rd time!!! I am down 4.5 lbs total for the 2 weeks...not exactly setting the world on fire, but you know what? I KNOW it is working this time...it just feels different. So, to anyone that is discouraged, I would say to you...keep doing it til you get it right!! My years of yo-yo dieting, 37, to be exact, has placed me in this predicament, so if it only takes me 15 months to correct 37 years of bad eating, then that's not so bad in the scheme of things, don't you think? Anyway, just wanted to say sometimes the journey may seem tortuously slow, but never give up...keep tinkering, tweaking, and adjusting until you find your "groove" LOL!

Shelley - You've kept a positive attitude (mostly ) for all these months. You certainly will do well this time. I can feel it!

Shelley, you are so right! I am actually enjoying the experimenting and paying attention to the way certain foods and combinations of foods on this WOE affects my body, my energy levels and my moods. It's been a fascinating journey and one that I am getting better at as the weeks go by. I never, ever paid so much attention to the way I ate and how it made me feel. I was the Queen of unconscious eating. Now, I think I'm driving everybody crazy with trying to convince them that this WOL should be the norm and not the "alternative".
Keep at it, Shelley! You've got the right attitude!

We had a relatively high carb lunch--about 25 at Lonestar Steakhouse and Saloon this afternoon. I had toast for breakfast--two pieces and will ahve steak and salad for dinner--BUT--I am backing down to about 30--have toyed with the idea of going back to induction but I think 30 is far enough. I was losing nicely on 30gs a day and staying there until Spring Break--the 10th of April, about a month. This week while I still feel good, I am not eating as pure or healthy as I had been so back I go.

Congrats on the 4.5 lbs and the feeling that must give you! Little green men jumping around for you--and your 15 month fix to years of poor eating habits!
