Your previous weeks diet won't have any effect unless you have been a yo-yo dieter. Although I would make sure you are taking a good multi-vitamin.

Only change I would make in your plan is either up your salad or add another 1/2 cup of veggies. Don't start out by skimping on the veggies or salad.

Yes, eat a lot of low carb veggies, drink lots of water, and make sure you read the book! Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, otherwise you won't really know what you're doing and it won't work for you. This is a lifestyle change, not a quick-loss diet. Please be aware that not everyone loses weight quickly. You will not feel well for the first few days or week as your body detoxifies, so be ready for that. But afterwards you should feel much better.

And remember this is not a low-fat program, so you don't need to worry quite as much about that aspect of it.

Welcome to the fourums CHARLYNE

First of all the most important thing to do after you decide what plan you will be on is to buy the book for it. If you are going to do atkins, then you should get Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR as we call it here). You need to understand how and why this woe works. The book will also list all of the major rules of how to do the lifestyle.

People on the forums are very helpful for additional information and in helping you get through specific problems that you are going through, but we are no substitute for the book.

Your previous diet should not have an effect on your new one. I don't see anything to worry about there.

Your menu for tomorrow sounds good. I just want to add that going by the book for induction, Atkins says that you should have 3 cups of salad or 2 cups of salad and 2/3 cups of veggies. Finally please don't use the cap lock, it sounds like you are shouting.

Charlyne - Welcome!!
How much weight did you lose on the cabbage soup diet? If you lost a significant amount of weight in the past two weeks you may not get that induction large weight loss you might expect. I think the cabbage soup diet is kind of low in carbs so if you lost a good amount of weight that could be why. But I only lasted 3 days on the cabbage soup diet myself so I'm no expert. I like to recommend www.fitday.com as a good food and exercise journal. This will keep track of carbs (and other things). So make sure you record everything, including things like cream. You may find that you can have more than 2 cups of salad and 1/2 cup veggies if you choose the very high fiber veggies like broccoli and spinach. Or more salad if that's your preference. Good luck with this WOE/WOL.
