I just weighed myself a couple of weeks ago and had maintained the 35 lb weight loss and and I don't feel like my pants are tighter or anything like that, but I feel like I gained weight and I don't know what's going on? I have been working out a lot more and focusing on my back and I think that is making me look "rounder" and last week I was using a lot of Nutra sweet - I am planing on eating mainly fruits and veggies this week. If any one has suggestions to help - please let me know.

Why eat mostly fruits and veggies? This doesn't sound very healthy, more like a crash diet than a sensible low carb way of eating. It's not a race. It sounds like you're doing really well, losing so much weight and exercising--why jeopardize your success?

Fruits and veggies is not a good for low carb. Ok "some" veggies are ok, but fruits? I don't think so. If I'm wrong, let me know, I don't think so though.

I guess I meant no artificial products and just sticking to low carb fruits - veggies and meats.

Sure there are, Kristie--like most berries, remember?

I'm glad you clarified, Sam--what you mean is that you're going to eat "clean," right? That's good, then.

thanks terrasanct - there are low carb fruits like grapes, strawberries, watermelon, honeydews - in combination with veggies and meat makes for a very nice alternative to not getting sucked into those "low carb" processed foods - isn't that why we started this - to get away from processed foods???

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>...isn't that why we started this - to get away from processed foods??? <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

My reason for "starting this" was to control my blood insulin levels to the point that I can lose weight effectively. Personally, I cannot do that by eating fruit since the natural sugars contained therein make my sugar levels spike to the point that my body thinks I am eating raw sugar. Also, eating the fruit sets off the carb demon within me and I am looking for more, wrong, sweet things to eat.

As for the low carb, processed foods, I don't ingest them, either. Eating clean is the only way I can lose weight optimally. Perhaps when I get to a maintenance level, I can incorporate a few blueberries into my diet once per week.

But, for now, I cannot. I've tried and each time, my weight loss comes to a screeching halt.

I always thought that fruits were high in nautural sugars, every time I tried to introduce them in my menu, it throws me out of ketosis.

But everyone is different, and when it comes to this woe, it's no exception.

I can handle a few strawberries and blue berries without problems. Anything else is too high.
I grabbed a tub of watermelon on vacation, and that and bananas are the worst for this WOE.

I do fine with berries...I try to have them in the morning so my body can deal with them the rest of the day. Also, I make sure to have them with some kind of protein and fat to slow down their absorbtion. I LOVE fruit and adding berries back in during OWL has been fun. But, like most things on this WOL, it's all personal to you and your own body!

Hi, i am new to the board but not to low carb eating. It is my personal opinon that grapes would be the worst fruit to eat on low carb. I have never been able to eat just a few grapes, they are addictive for me. I have been known to eat a whole pounds and still want more. By the way this is my first post, I hope I didnt make to many mistakes. I really love this board and visit it every day .

Thanks for the welcome Mary Kay. I read in a magazine artical by some nutritionist(can't remember his name) that grapes are the junk food of the fruit group. As much as I love them I stick to berrys.
