I just got a copy of every anti atkins diet article that ever was published thrown at me! I get so sick of biting my tongue when people do that!. You know, the thing is..they all say atkins promotes heart attacks... but.. 12 years ago my husband DID have a heart attack and ended up with 4 by-pass surgery..from clogged arteries.. but get this...at that time we had been on the so called heart healthy diet for quite awhile.. was excercising regularly, and my husbands job required him to walk up 3 flights of stairs multiple times per day. There is no family history of this type problem...no reason whatsoever for him to have the attack .. other then job related stress. why can't people who don't try atkins simply mind their own business and leave us alone????

Who threw the articles at you? It aggravates me too when those who don't know the specifics assume things about this WOE. I'd put them in the 'circular file' and forget about it.

When they throw articles at you just counter with, "I'm sorry, I don't see any scientific, peer reviewed studies in that stack."
