Were they fresh, raw, or canned pickled? I can eat the canned kind but the fresh ones pretty much tear me up! Also, get rid of the seeds and the inner membranes - that's where the majority of the heat is.

Try eating them with some cheese - milk protein supposedly helps cool the heat on peppers!

I LOVE jalapenos, but have learned to only eat the canned kind these days!

The jalapeno peppers were from a jar.. i diced them up and put them in my salad.. there was some cheese in my salad.. im wondering if i lost my tolarence for heat... about 6 yrs ago i had a major issue w/ acid reflux but it seemd ot have gone away after eating properly like the doc had told me.. only had minor spurts of it when i would eat spicey food.. but i would instantly take something after eating to offset it.. i can usualy handle a small slice of jalapeno pepper or two in my salad.. and this is the first time on this WOE that i have added it... now.. i fear since i havegone a while w/ out spice in my life... that i have lost all tolerance for it... i tried thismorning w/ some Mild LC salas w/ my eggs.. and it wasnt as bad as the peppers but i noticed the burning in my stomach and comming to my throat... shrug..
no clue how fast i could become intolarable to heat..

now that i think about it, i'm real sensitive to spicy/hot foods now - more than before this WOE.
specifically, i tried some spicy chicken sausages from the health food store the other day ... and oh goodness! i thought my tummy would never recover! (kept tasting them ALL day, know what i mean?)

As a good mexican I eat spicy almost every day and I don't have this problem, so maybe you stopped eating spicy and your body isn't anymore used to eat that kind of food.
I would recommend you to eat at first very little spicy food and then increse it.

Good luck

I am a spicy addict I usually dont like food that isn't spicy.

I mix them up with eggs and stuff, but no stomach problems here.

Although, I am 1/4 mexican & my bf is also mexican and we make our own salsa and hot stuff.

Im also very addicted to spicy pork rinds.

Perhaps you can cool down w/ some cream cheese?
