I posted before that i sometimes overeat the right food (okay often). Does drinking lots of water really minimize some of the effects, really?

Today i had a lc tortilla with some cream cheese for breakfast and then some fish and brocoi for lunch then a yogurt for a snack. Well by 6pm i was starving and ended up eating half of a roasted chicken (small chicken, but a chicken nontheless) with some terriaki brocoli.

I ate so much and will not even get on the scale tomorrow because it's a guaranteed pound or two...But thinking long term, does drinking a lot of water right after the meal and short after that help minimize the damage?

I must be strange because when I give in to massive hunger with lots of allowed foods, within a day or so I usually get a big woosh.

Lissette
Seriously...I don't think you're eating ENOUGH. You shouldn't be 'starving'. More food, more fat, more veggies, I say Maybe add a few protein/fat snacks throughout the day, too: a hard boiled or deviled egg here, some veggies and ranch dip there, some meat/cheese roll-ups. A huge salad with some full fat dressing. Enjoy! And don't go hungry!

Lissette,

If you were hungry you needed to eat, OK maybe not half the chicken, but you obviously needed to eat. drink say 16-20 oz when you think you are hungry then take say 5-10 minutes then eat if you are still hungry. I can start something and finish the "whole thing" so I know exactly what you are talking about, but I also know that I can often stop the binge by drinking a big glass of water and setting a timer for 10 minutes and watching TV or something else til the buzzer goes off. If I think I really am hungry not thirsty, I have a small snack and set the timer. After 10 minutes I do eat if I am still feeling the need but often I have disrailed the hungries and am fine.

NOt eating enough?, i said half of a whole chicken as one of my meals...lol

I wish i was your kind of strange Libby, if eating a lot of allowable things would give me a woosh. Remember allowable things include cheese and meat, not just veggies and tons of water. too much protein makes me gain weight espcially if it's high calorie protein like ribs and steak. I had dinner 4 hours ago and since then i've had 48 oz of water and still feel so full. Usually when i distribute my meals in 5 -6 small ones i'm hungry every three to four hours. Looking back at my menu, my mistake probably was not eating enough throughout the day which made it difficult to contol my portion at diner time. But honestly there are times where i eat well during the day and i still overeat for diner. I'm still stuggling with portion control adn knowing the differene between satisfied and full ya know?
