| how can you tell if your flaxseed has gone bad? i didn't know it was supposed to be kept in the fridge after opening, so it was in the cupboard for a day - before i figured it out... anyway, it tasted just fine for a few days... but yesterday it sort of had a bitter, icky taste. does this mean it's rancid? |

| I've always kept my flaxseed in the freezer after opening and it always tastes very mild/mellow, so I bet yours is bad. I know the stuff spoils very quickly.

| Fortunately, I have never had the cereal go bad on me. I always keep it in the fridge and keep it covered away from light. I have actually become a bit obsessive compulsive about covering the cereal with the lid as fast as I can. Remember that light can also make it go rancid too.
