I was wondering if you need to count every single packet of splenda as 1g carb, it just seems like a lot for a little packet when I can drink a ton of aspartame sweetened Koolaid (sugar free)and not have it interfere with my weight loss. Is it one of those, "it depends on the person" kind of thing? I consider it "free" Anyone know?

Yeah, it's a YMMV thing.

Ingesting aspartame or Splenda has never hindered my weight loss.

Ingesting poptarts has, however...

what does YMMV mean? Also do you count every single packet as 1g carb or is it considered a "free food"?

YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary. In other words, every body and everybody are different. What affects one, doesn't affect another the same way.

In the beginning when I first began waaayyy back in 1998, I counted every packet. Now, I do not.

It makes not one whit of difference to my body. It may to yours. You just have to find out through trial and error.

It may help to read this thread. Also, in this thread there's a link to the Splenda site. It may have more information for you.

I would count every gram in the sugar substitutes, and I would not consider them to be a free food. JMHO
