Starting Wed. (yesterday) i have had this uncontrolable hunger. I find it puzzleing beacuse alot of people say they arnt as hungry since this WOL. i lost 5 lbs now another 2 1/2
just this week.. doesnt seem possible beacuse im eating like a horse.. salads and meat and everything i should and some of the LC products.. and those WRAPS..YUMM.. i feel like a teenager the way im eating.. I don't know if maby my metbolism got the jump it needed and now is acting as it should.. but i hate eating right befor bed.. so i have been going to bed hungry and wakeing up starved... i dont over do any meal. but have been spreading my food in take out threw the day to keep me "satisfied"

im eating about 30 grams of carbs a day, im also haveing 6 oz of cheese a day if not a little more,

maby im just getting lucky but im watching it closely for it to head the other direction any day..

Hi Gilley,

Have you started exercising recently? That always makes me really hungry the next day (my body working so hard to create muscle mass and all). Another possibility is TOM. Is it anywhere nearby?

One way to curb hunger is to eat a higher fat snack like nuts. As long as you're losing, I wouldn't worry so much about the volume of food you consume.

Yeah, when I'm insatiably hungry I usually grab a small handful of unsalted pecans or some macademias. Or eat a small piece of meat. Something with a little fat and protein to tide you over till the next meal. I try to eat something every 3 hours during the day so I never get hungry enough to binge. I also just completely change what I'm doing for 10-15 minutes i.e. get up and walk around, go do laundry, scrub the toilet, etc. till the urge passes. You are not alone, though. Also, I've noticed that anything artificially sweetened will give me cravings so I try to avoid them, but YMMV.

The only time I was not hungry was during induction. When you start adding more carbs back into your diet the cravings will increase . I have to eat a small protein/fat snack about 3 hours after dinner so I don't go to bed starving. As long as you don't eat a huge meal right before bed you should be okay. And a word of warning: don't eat anything with maltitol before bed or you'll be up all night passing gas !!

I get really hungry, I mean eating-the-wall-molding starving, for a few days before I have a little whoosh. I would never actually eat the wall molding, for I fear wood has a lot of fiber and would upset my digestion, but sometimes only the fact it's nailed down saves it. So, when I get like that I eat more, and still have the whoosh. I follow the basic thing in the book, if you're hungry, eat!!

BTW, one of my favorite evening "snacks" is coffee with a scoop of Keto Hot Cocoa mix and some heavy cream. It puts a little something in your stomach without filling you up too much before bedtime, and is sweet and tasty. I don't know offhand what it's sweetened with (I'm currently out of it) but it doesn't cause me any bad atmospheric effects, if ya know what I mean!
