Hi all,
I was thrilled to finally find Carb Options BBQ sauce at my local store. I promptly went home and made pork ribs with it and they were great. I hadn't had any ribs or pork steaks since I started this WOE because I only eat these meats with sauce.

It was so good. I'm so happy I found LC bbq sauce.

lol forgot to add my 2nd thought in all my excitement over this sauce

If you cook boneless pork ribs in the crock pot covered in this BBQ sauce they fall apart so easily. I took the leftovers and shredded them. Then rewarmed it the next day with a little more BBQ sauce for moisture and put it in a LC tortilla with cheese...yummm!!!

Darlin,
You got my mouth watering for barbeque pork ribs now. The way you cooked them sounds so simple and easy. I'm going to have to try cooking them that way.

I tried the Atkins BBQ but found it to be too spicy. Is the Carb Options one a sweet version or a spicy one. I think splenda would work perfectly here.

Paladin -

This one is much better than the Atkins BBQ. It is a bit spicy though. You can cut the spice by adding a little tomato sauce and some splenda.

DH and the kids love it because they like spicy. Me, I'm getting used to it more spicy.

Our local Kroger had an entire display of the CarbOptions products...they are made by Unilever, I think. Anyway, the brand names are Ragu, 7 Seas, etc. I bought the Cheese Sauce and use it on broccoli and in my chicken/broc. casserole. I bought the BBQ sauce and use it on chicken, too. Now, these products are found right along side the regular stuff. I was prepared to not like these, and I was pleasantly suprised. And they were not that expensive. There is a steak sauce, and some mayo, and some Alfredo. I was thinking of trying that in the chicken/broc. casserole next time instead of the cheese. AND our local Colter's BBQ has been advertising and Atkins plate: meat and 2 veggies, I think. (No roll.) Now, they're advertising on the banner:Now, we have low carb BBQ sauce. I wonder if it really is and what kind it is....-Maxibee

I used the alfredo the other night in spaghetti squash. I was quite happy with it. Also got the bbq waiting to try it.

Regarding the spicyness of the BBQ Sauce....we have 2 flavors at our store. Original and hickory. I have only used the hickory and it's not spicy at all.

I love carb options bbq sauce too. It tastes great, and even tho I like spicer sauce, it is still very satisfactory with me. Love it!

One little word of caution here:

I have become a compulsive label reader, and I checked out the Carb Options products at my grocery store. Just FYI...the original flavor barbeque sauce and the steak sauce both contain anchovies. If you have a fish allergy, be careful. And, the peanut spread contains partially hydrogenated oils...good old trans-fats, which are not a good idea. The bars are the same old story; the first ingredient is maltitol syrup.

Other than these problems, the rest of the products seem to be pretty harmless.

I too cook my ribs in the crock pot all day long. I cook them covered in water and then bring them out at the end of the day, pour some sauce on top and broil them for a few minutes to bake the sauce in. They are tender as can be and fall off the bone. So good.

I bought the regular bbq sauce and found it a tad spicy, but then I am very sensitive to spicy/seasonings and used a honey bbq sauce prior to Atkins.

I will have to try the hickory now too.
