| I just found out Junior's has a lowcarb cheesecake. It is made with Xylitol. Does this have the same effects that other sugar alcohols have????

| Hi Bev Do you mean by raising the blood glucose, or errr, ummmm, *bathroom* problems? I've read of both of these things connected with Xylitol. But I would say, again, it's probably a YMMV thing. Give it a try, maybe eat half a slice, and observe your reactions, then you would know. Nothing like self sacarfice for the good of your fellow LC'er...LOL Let us know, OK? | My friend makes her cheesecake with Xylitol, and it's wonderful! I had a small slice today, and I have never had any adverse reaction with it. |

| While your reaction to xylitol is a YMMV thing, the benefits of xylitol as a tooth decay deterrent are well documented. It actually has anti cavity properties that I once read described as equal to fluoride. |
