Today was one of those days were i had so much to do at work that i just couldn't get away from my desk and ended up skipping lunch. My boss noticed that i didn't go out to lunch and he knew i couldn't so he asked me if he could pick something up for me. I said no because i don't like to explain to anyone that the reason why i may ask for a salad is because i'm on lc not a diet and plus i don't like to eat in front of him...

Anyway, he comes back half hour later and hands me a bowl of frozen fruit with syrup in it and says " I got you some fruit because i know your on a diet" yeah like i eat fruit smothered in corn syrup! I know his intentions were good, so i ate some of it and i was my first meal at 4:00pm.

Well, when i got home the lack of eating properly and that corn syrup woke up some animal in my that went into a mexican restaurant and ordered El Rey Nachos with guacamole, beans cheese, beef...not done yet, and chicken. OH MY GOD! And i've only had one cup of water...what a day, i can't wait for a new start tomorrow...

People do try to be helpful....

Thankfully, you've caught it in time! Start fresh on Friday, and drink LOTS of water.

Hey--the chicken was good for you--I was dying for tomato juice today--so I drank a whole bottle--only 12 oz fortunately I know that if I buy a gallon I will drink a gallon--I love the stuff so I stick to small bottles that I can't do too much damage with if I do drink the whole thing. Drink extra water tomorrow and pack your lunch!!! or at least some good for you snacks!

I was thinking you could have washed off the corn syrup before you ate the fruit. That got me wondering (uh oh): if you cook low carb foods with high carb foods do they get contaminated? Like if I make a roast with meat, carrots, potatoes, turnips, and rutabega does the meat, turnips, and rutabega get contaminated by the carrot&potato "juice"? Sorry if that's a dumb question!
I feel bad for you about the binge, Lissette, but "tomorrow is a new day". There will always be temptations, and we're only human. As long as we keep trying we will not fail.

specialk, that's an interesting question. i'm so paranoid about it that if we go to a fast food place and i order a burger, i request "no bun." my BF always asks why i just don't take the bun off (order it regular)??
well i did that one time ... and when i pulled the bun off there was a layer of crumbs stuck to the beef!
i freaked out and refused to eat it!! LOL!

The contamination thing is a good question. I never really thought about that. We have a cafeteria at my work, and I'll usually just order 2 patties with 2 slices of cheese, and that's how they give it to me. One time, when I did order a hamburger - bun and all - they asked me if I wanted it with a bun 'cuz they were so use to me ordering the other way. The only thing I have to be careful with now is being sure that I can control the portions that are given to me. One time - when I wasn't lc'ing - I ordered biscuits and gravy, and they doubled the portion on me for the same price! Some people here think I am too thin and am starving myself so that's why they did that to me. I ate 1/2 of it and threw the other half away and made the decision to be sure I could control the portions of whatever I ordered.

Next time that happens and someone offers to bring you something, tell them what you want. Ordering a salad is not unusual. Get a sandwich and then eat the meat and cheese-- leave the bread. A while back, I decided that the world is full of picky eaters. Why should I worry about being one, too.

Just another note...... You really should eat breakfast. Your body works more efficiently when fed small amounts more often. It's no surprise that you had a nacho attack -- your body thought you had been starving it all day. It's much harder to control binge eating when you are hungry. Don't get hungry!! Take some appropriate snacks to work. Keep an emergency can of Atkins shake or some string cheese. Don't set yourself up for that kind of situation again.

Now, go out there and have a good day!

Lissette..i work in an adult school and 3/4 of my co-workers are like me italian...you think thats not hard working with italians with all the homemade pasta and breads? we have also a culinary section...they always do things for us and its all made from scratch and fresh in all a beautiful presentation...like top notch chefs...food surounds me all day long...i sure understand you when someone brings you food and hard not to say NO to them...they are just being kind and you dont want to hurt their feelings cause of their good gesture...same when my sons for their first time gave me a bday meal and a cake...how can you say no to your own kids when they just wanted to please mom for the first time...so i had that half inch slice and a gallon of water...you dont have that much left to lose like me...so its not the end of the world if something happens one day...not as if you do this everyday...just get back on track the following day and DONT skip any meals...

If your boss asks you again or anyone what you would like, just stick to salad with chicken or ham or even eggs whatever you want in it...salads are very common as a lunch meal...or just bring your lunch...like Judy mentioned, keep some LC snacks in your office for them days...if you have a frig at the office bring yourself a soy milk and leave it in the frig...

Im still waiting for that magic pill we pop in our mouths and fills us up as a meal and all stay nice and slim and healthy.... yes i know, im dreaming....lol...

hang in there girl
