Here it is...53 days away from our delayed honeymoon to Phoenix AZ for two weeks (we were married Nov 2nd)...

The stepson is back from a 14 month stint in Iraq (thank you, Lord!) so I will finally be able to meet him and the grandaughter. Also am going to finally meet some of my relatives and some people from the police force my husband was on when he lived there.

So I've made up my mind to look my best before we even get there. Am pushing my exercise routine above and beyond what I could have ever imagined and am really watching my food intake. I have 17 pounds to go and I know I can get there if I just keep putting my trust and faith in God (and of course, do everything I'm suppose to be doing as well!)

My dad and stepmom will be there as well, and when they last saw me, I was 154 lbs and a size 12...wonder what they'll think now when they see me. I'm even thinner now than I was when I was in my wedding picture! WOOO HOOO!

My husband is proud of me now, but when we go to Phoenix and he introduces me to people, I want to hear them ask him 'how did you get to lucky to end up with a beautiful wife like that?' Yeah. That's what I want to hear!

17 more pounds to go...and it's coming off!

Sounds like you have a plan, and the will to succeed.

Good luck - I'm sure that you can do it!

Sheyla,

When did you start this WOE? We are the same height and if you started on your joining date (1-4-04), then I need to try whatever it is that you are doing... I would be estatic to be 122... Let me know, b/c I need all the help I can get.

I started lce in January 2002 and dropped 32 lbs that year. Then I just maintained that weight loss for almost a year. Finally decided to get serious again and re-started on September 20, 2003 at the weight of 154 lbs. 32 more lbs gone so far! WOOO HOOO! I workout for an hour a day (I hit the gym now at 4:30 am on the weekdays and around 5:30 am on Saturdays - I rest on Sunday but will take a 30 minute leisurely stroll just to ensure there is some kind of exercise implemented into my day) I was told that after an hour of working out, your body will start doing double time when it comes to calorie burning - that's why I work out in the morning. So anything else I do during the day time is extra calorie burning. Don't know if it's true or not but it seems to be working for me.

I am following a modified version of LC. I implemented fruits, nuts and yogurt into my woe, and obviously, it hasn't affected me. But I do still limit my bread intake (I was one of those people who could eat a whole loaf - no problem) So on Saturdays, I'll have one slice of 100% whole wheat bread with 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter as a little treat...but figured with the vacation coming up and all, am going to stop that for awhile, too...just don't want to sabatoge myself any. Usually make Saturdays more of my 'starch' day so eat a little more carbs on that day but not right now since I have this plan and goal...

Well, hey, that seems to be working great for you!!! I've recently added more LC breads and strawberries (more than usual) and the weight loss has begun again. I think I wasn't eating ENOUGH there for awhile and I just plum stalled. I think people in the beginning of their WOL should limit even LC breads and the like, but after weight loss has begun in earnest and you exercise enough, it's safe to add back..........just my own personal observation.

Barb - since adding more fruit and lc bread, have you cut out other foods to replace?
