Hi

I think my stall is over, at least for now. I have lost another pound this week. I am slightly disappointed that it was only one pound..but I guess one pound is better than none...or gaining right????!!!!!

I just thought that with Atkins it would come off faster than one pound/week. But none-the-less....I am happy with my 22lb loss.

Hi Kristen.

Congratulations on your 22 lb. loss! Way to go!!! That's great!

I was expecting slightly 'faster' results with Atkins, too, but from reading the posts here I've come to realize it can be fast at first then slow down quite a bit. Especially if you're not careful (like ME) with your LC 'treats'. For me too many Atkins bars per week were giving me a bit of a slow down.

I've given those up and tried the shakes instead and that's made a big difference. I am FINALLY able to get into my size 12 Old Navy jeans (shrunken and all!) .

Keep up the great work! I'm right with ya!

Congratulations Kristin! A pound a week may be disappointing but a pound is a lot if you think of it. Just hang in there!!

I am happy with the one pound, considering I do cheat a bit on the weekends. I will weigh myself first thing on Friday mornings and then will be a bit more relaxed on foods I eat the rest of Friday and Saturday as well. I am still cautious of breads, rice, potatoes etc...but I might get LC ice cream or have a few slices of pizza etc...and then will be out of Ketosis for a day or two...and I am still losing a pound/wk.

I think the exercise...I KNOW the exercise is helping and I will continue it and will increase it as well.

Thanks all.

wow kristen, you've lost a lot. maybe your rate of loss would speed up if you didn't "cheat" on the weekends ... ?
just an idea.

Congragulations on your one pound loss! At least it is a loss and not a gain...

Now as far as the being more relaxed on the weekends...I learned my lesson from doing that 'cuz that's what I use to do as well. And then, on Monday, I'd be 3 lbs heavier and that would be the same 3 lbs I'd lose the following week. And then I'd think to myself, 'had I not gained those 3 lbs back, I could have lost an extra 3 lbs instead of starting all over again.' So I made up my mind to stop being so relaxed on the weekends when it came to food. I have even given up my slice of bread and 2 Tbsp of PB on Saturdays for now until I can get this woe completely under control. The way I look at it, this is now a lifestyle for me, and I have to treat every day like that.

sheyla, great outlook ... i agree w/ you.
our body's don't know that we're just going to "ease up a bit" or "relax and have a little cheat!"
the body doesn't know that we want it to "ignore" our little side venture.

as dr. atkins said (not verbatim) ... on this WOE, the attitude "one little bite won't hurt" is not acceptable.

Kristin, unless you've been on Atkins for 22 weeks, you're losing more than a pound a week on average. Right?

Yes I guess it is more than one pound per week I guess.

When I say I cheat, which I know is not good but if I feel at all deprived I will not continue with it, I mean that I eat some LC treats, eat more carbs(good carbs) than I do during the week. I am still right around 20carbs per week.

I will try to eat better on the weekends too and see how much better that helps....results will make me change my ways.

Thanks all

think the quote was 'one little bite of this won't hurt is the kiss of death on this plan'.

have not gained at since I have started this WOE....its been a steady loss....albeit a SLOW loss.

When I cheat a bit, its not because I crave sugar or anything and I don't fall off the wagon...I just allow myself a small treat.

I will try to make it through the weekend without it this weekend and see how it goes.

Thanks for the suggestions

Kristin

RobinBeBe

follow a hybrid of Atkins and Protein Power. I started at the end of October, and have lost 25 lbs, which is a little over a pound a week. I had also heard that you lose weight fast on a LC diet, But, on any lowfat diet I was on, I never lost more than about 15 lbs before I quit because I was starving and bored with the food.

I have read that this is about normal for weight loss after you are out of induction. So, I am quite happy with it I am about to modify my plan again, as I am going to be incorporating weight training into my routine. I plan on following the Streets program, as they have written one designed for LCers that exercise.
