Bergee,

Try the "post reply" button instead of using the "quick reply." You should get a reply box that offers you a huge selection of smilies. All you have to do is leave your cursor in your message where you want the smilie, then click on the one you've chosen. Depending on what level of editor you've chosen in your options, you'll see either the smilie itself or the code that will become the smilie when you hit post.

Jackie,

There are two choices for smilies. One is a choice for the title, the other is for within the text. If you're not seeing a pull down for smillies within the text, do this: go to User CP (that's the user control panel) then choose Edit Options. Scroll all the way down to the bottom where it says: Miscellaneous Options. In that box, choose either "Standard Editor" or "Enhanced Editor - WYSIWYG". When one of these is selected, the next time you choose "Post Reply" you should get a reply window with a number of different options, including font format and smilies, that will be right above the reply text box.

Try this and let me know what you see!

I love the new site! I hadn't been here for a LONG while and it was a very pleasant surprise. I especially love that you're using vBulletin for your board now - I work on the web and 99% of the places I go to use this program, so it's a pleasure for me to use in this forum.

Joanna,

I finally figured out what your were talking about. I think you're saying that the pull down menu in the "default thread subscription mode" box on your options page will not pull down, so you cannot enable the feature that would automatically subscribe you to every thread you post too.

Mine doesn't work either.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if the option is disabled on purpose.

Only Andrea can tell us for sure.

Maggie, Joanna
I had no problem accomplishing this. I just hit quick links -> Edit options -> and chose instant email notification. Are you saying that you can't get that last pull down menu to make a choice? If that's the case it isn't happening because the feature has been disabled. Very puzzling. Maggie is it happening on both your Mac and windows machines?

Yes, Rob, on both UNTIL JUST NOW. Now it is working. Up until this am, it was not working either from home or from work. Maybe Andrea tweaked it.

Joanna, let us know if it's also working for you now.

YES, this option is disabled - I know other webmasters who had a devil of a time with it clogging the email server, and also causing users who forgot they had checked it to report the site as a spammer.

however, you can go into your profile and look at all the posts you've posted to. Maybe that will help?

Sandy -
I'm not sure what you are asking. The time is in the blue banner above each message. Most of us have found we need to change our time setting to a setting that is 3 hours ahead of our normal one. I took Pacific time, even though I am Eastern.

from your other post - I'm not sure what you mean by not getting replies in your email.
