Default Looking for Menu ideas

Hi everybody. I was wondering if anyone would provide me some ideas. I've been trying to figure out what else to eat for breakfast other than turkey sausage or cottage cheese. I'm looking for stuff that is fairly low fat and low carb.

I'm also look for similar ideas for snacks.

Thanks.

Anything you eat for lunch and dinner you can eat for breakfast - egg salad, hard boiled eggs, chicken, steak, pork chops, tuna, etc... don't just think of breakfast food. Have a salad if you want. Snack - I like ham rollups....slice of deli ham, spread cream cheese and put a wedge of pickle (dill) on it and roll it up, and eat. SOme people put asparagus on it instead of the pickle, what ever you like you can add, or just the ham and cheese.
hope this helps some.

are you in induction or out... if you are out of induction you could try some almonds... as a sanck...
there are many items out there to eat we just have to open our eyes to them... how long have you been LCing.. you realy shouldnt worrie at first about your fat in take.. could cause you to stall if not receving enough good fat...

I tend to snack on almonds, cut veggies, the occasonal LC treat-baked good or candie (only on occasions and only right after a meal as desert), cheese cubes, cooked diced chicken, turkey, tuna w/ veggies

be open minded just beacuse it is breakfest dont mean you HAVE to eat breakfest style food... when i wasnt lcing my frequent breakfest was pizza lol.. guess that is why i am LC ing now.. lol.. thank god i dont work in a pizza shop anymore..

One thing I like to make for breakfast is a veggie/egg bake. I usually make this on the weekend, then eat it all week. Put a layer of frozen lc veggies (broccoli is my favorite) in a 2 quart square casserole dish or 9x9 inch baking pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Scramble together 6 eggs, 1/4 cup cream, a little water, salt and pepper and pour over the veggies. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes, or until the eggs are set. Cut into 6 pieces. Refrigerate leftovers. To reheat, warm in the microwave for 30-45 seconds. You can also add grated cheese and/or a meat (crumbled cooked bacon or sausage, diced ham, ground beef, etc.) if you want.

Hrmmm... The veggie/egg bake sounds good. Kinda like a fritatta or a quiche. Ham roll-ups are a good idea too. Thanks for the thoughts.

Any others?

There's always my personal favorite of smoked salmon rolled around a bunch of cream cheese. Don't forget about things like crustless quiches too. Anything that you would eat for lunch or dinner is also OK for breakfast. I had leftover steak and veggies yeterday.

How do you people feel about Post Grape-Nuts? I looked at the box briefly, and it's low on fiber and sugars, but high on "Other Carbs". How does this cereal fit into a LC diet? Like an elephant in a fridge, or is it manageable?

I vote for the elephant in the refigerator! If I remember correctly, and it's been years since I bought a box of grape nuts, there's barley malt in it along with wheat flour. a 1/2 cup serving comes to 35 or so net carbs. Which is probably close to your entire daily allowance.

One word "Flax-O-Meal" (okay it is really three). Low net carbs, great for regularity!
