I say BUY some new clothes!!!:great: I read this thread earlier, and decided to go try on new jeans...mine were loose...and I fit comfortably in a 18 (stretch jeans rock!!!) I haven't seen 18 since 1997. WOOOHOOO! Also, I tried on some new shirts...and the 1X was just right (some a little too loose) so I got one of those, too! As soon as I get off line, I am going through my closet and getting rid of all the 2X and 22pants and the 24 dress I have been holding on to and I will drop them off at Good Will! I think I will go shopping this weekend!!!

cindi...its a great feeling isnt it! when i bought a large in a pink rain type jacket i was in seventh heaven.. i ALWAYS was gettin xl or 1x..2x..
i keep trying to wear a black leather jacket that i bought.. its huge now.. wraps around to the side instead of pullin at front.. LOVE It! i will buy another next year.. i also have to toss a few suit type jackets that are the same way...
i am SO lookin forward to summer and SHORTS in sizes in regular not plus.. its wonderful ..although i worked for a clothing store a few years back.. i have some COLUMBIA brand shorts and tops that were tight back then.. they fit now.. some too big.. but COLUMBIA stuff is about the same NOW as it was 3 or 4 years ago.. khaki.. khaki green.. *L*.. i love them tho.. i had bought some that NEVER fit.. i would leave the vests open.. the jackets open.. and the shirts open over tanks.. i soooooooooo loved their line of clothes i hated not being able to wear them like they were MEANT to be worn,,,

I can really relate. Having lost over 90 lbs, my wardrobe has become very limited. Went and spent money on new slacks, only to have THEM start to be very baggie!

It is kind of depressing, but in a good way. I just recently gave away fourteen dress shirts. Five of which I bought in September. Somehow I wish technology for clothes would catch up to "Back to the Future". You remember Marty's future clothes, they just shrunk to fit! Wouldn't that be cool.

The up side is that I am now only 25 lbs from goal. I have decided that when I reach that weight, I'm off to by some designer clothes! Cost be damned, I deserve it
Information gladly given, but safety requires no unnecessary conversation.

You know, after reading and posting I decided to go shopping. The satisfaction of trying on new clothes and fitting into a size I haven't been in since high school (almost 10 years ago) is just so uplifting. I think shopping is a great idea especially if you are stalled, you might realize how much weight you have lost and it might uplift your mood. I had a great time shopping the other day it was frustrating at first though. Most of my clothes in my closet are a size 16/18 with some shirts a 1X so I walked around and grabbed all size 14 and XL I was frustrated but amazed when I had to go back and pick out size 12's and exchange for size L shirts!

    Ugh, I have a different problem. . .
I can't stop buying clothes. I have finally started regularly shopping my local secondhand store, so I can go get 3 or 4 new things for only a few bux. I have stuff in my closet that still has its tags. I can sit there for a half an hour trying to decide what to wear, and go three weeks without having to do laundry.
    Somebody stop me!
Seriously though, I only have 5-10 more pounds to go, and it's going REALLY slow so I'll be able to wear this stuff for awhile!
Just go for it! You'd be surprised how much fun stuff you can find at Walmart. Try on stuff you think way too young for you, that's what I do and it's a blast.

Gilley79!! I just wanted to ring in here and tell you that you need to tell DH that he should be SOOOOO proud to know that guys are looing at you! My DH tells me all the time when we are out and guys flirt with me that he loves that other men think I look good enough to flirt with. He says, "hey, let them look all they want, I'm the lucky guy she goes home with! " Maybe I'm outta line, but it seems to me that he has a very healthy attitude about it! Get your DH on track!! Tell him what a lucky guy he is to have a woman who is attractive to other men - but you choose HIM!!

I'm so happy yall took my advice but please do remember that you are still losing weight so don't spend alot of money cause one day you'll have to replace the new clothes with smaller ones.'

I have kicked out all the clothes that don't fit anymore. I am so glad I have too--It made room for 4 or 5 pairs of new pants and shirts that were hanging in the back of the closet and not being worn because they didn't fit. I have space in my closet and still have two sizes to go before my "wardrobe" has all been kicked out and I have to totally start from scratch. I bought elastic waist pants with a drawstring--capris and one pair of stretch denims from Wal-Mart all size XL or 18 and am hoping they will fit all summer and next fall I will get some new ones again for work. I teach PE so I have to have comfortable that I can move in but that look nice too. I bought 6 new shirts for the price of 3 since I went to the Disney store a few weeks back and they had Tees buy one get one so I did! Bought colors to match my new pants! I have lost 40lbs so far--well, 39 to be exact but basically 40 and boy do I look different and boy do things fit differently. I must have tried on 40 pairs of pants before settling on the ones I bought from the regular sized things not plus--none of the plus fit right--first time since DD was born in 1995. Amazing that!

I second and third and all that the idea that you need to supplement with a couple of inexpensive well fitting things now and then and boy does it ever feel good to pick the wrong size the first time or two! My new Sunday outfit is a 16 pants and an 18 jacket with an XL summer sweater. . .in white, blue and pink. . .my choices before were bright primaries and now the light colors look OK too. . .
