Default Back from my cruise with extra weight...

The wife and I did our anniversary cruise and had a great time. I thought I would be able to stick to the plan through-out, but I started adding small bits of bad stuff here and there and was pretty much eating complete desserts and some starch stuff near the end. I gained 3-4 pounds which I guess isn't too bad. I was bad, but I did not go crazy.

Now the vaca is over and back to pretty much induction foods. This is day one. I hope I don't get the headaches I got the first time I went on induction.

As I was stalling before, I hope this will help me get back to constantly losing. I am looking forward to that.

RKC,

3-4 pounds is not bad at all... consider it water gain and it should be gone by weeks end or so

some vacations are easier than others... and since i've never been on a cruise... i could only imagine all the nono-s within reach.

plus -- i know how hard it is to keep up water consumption while away and having fun.

hope you had a ball!

I would consider it a blessing! that is nothing at all, and you had fun. It was worth it.

Funny book recommendation about LCing and a cruise: "Cooking for Harry" by Kay-Marie James. It was a fun, lighthearted read that still captures the struggles and joys of LC-ing!

Road, any weight you gained probably came from your body trying to restore it's glycogen. A few days of induction should do wonders for you. I just finished a week of induction, and it broke my 2.5 month stall....

Thanks, that's what I am hoping. I am not sure if I will be able to stick with the induction foods. I will try for the two weeks like starting from scratch.

Unless you are being hit with cravings after your trip, you probably only need to do a few days of induction eating. You sure don't need to go for the 2 weeks.

That's exactly what I told myself during my first day. Now I am still hesitant to add OWL foods back.

Also, I second Mary Kay. A few days, maybe even a week at 20 grams is all that you will need, IMO.

I too went on a cruise. Last October DW and I took a seven day trip to Mexico and LA. I stayed mostly on plan, no sweets, starches, etc, but I was out of ketosis when I returned home. I, the morning after returning, started right where I left off. I didn't return to induction, and my weight loss commenced in a week.

During the cruise I too gained 4 pounds. I attributed to an increase in salt and alcohol consumption. I drank a couple of straight scotches a day (the really good stuff) and that surely was the culprit. I would suggest that you might want to just return to your usual routine and check you status after a week. If you are still stalled, then perhaps a return to induction style eating for a few days may help.

Thanks everyone.

Well, I started induction foods on Monday, and just this morning I am in ketosis. Dropped a pound and a half. I think I will try "re-induction" until at least Saturday. We will be going out Saturday night and I will want to have a beer or three

So far it hasn't been that tough, not like the first time I went on induction.
