| PMS is here again...and it seems that every third month or so I get the wickedest cravings. I have been maintaining well, pretty much staying LC, but tonight I'm at work...and bored. And there's one of those evil 'Office Snacks' boxes sitting 2 feet away from me. Thankfully all the 'good' stuff that I would really go for is gone. So...here I sit posting to vent and keep myself on track. Why I should not give in to cravings: 1) I'd have that 'what the hell' feeling and one high carb thing will lead to another. 2) Then I'd physically feel like crap: bloated, thirsty, tired, and achy. And...farty! :o Eww! 3) I'd be tired in the morning and won't feel like getting the dogs out, cleaning, etc, or that gym trip I have planned for tomorrow. 4) I'd have that desperate feeling tomorrow that 'I have to start over, again'. 5) I'll feel so much better about myself in the morning, physically and emotionally. Just writing instead of consuming something I shouldn't is making me feel IN CONTROL. Ok. Craving passed. And if it comes back, I'll have some of the hb eggs I made while writing this post. Had a couple big glasses of water while posting, which also helped. What helps you stay in control?

| Aren't those boxes the worst? Thankfully the snack man puts some sunflower seeds and other nuts in the box at my office. I usually keep some of my own sunflower seeds in my desk along with the occasional Atkins Advantage bar. (Not for everyone I know). Keep downing the water. You can make it through tonight!

| Hi Tara, great job staying focused. and as to what keeps me focused. 1. Cannot go back to the miserable way i used to be 2. Love hearing people say " you're losing weight " 3. Energy( i have enough to share right now) 4. Knowing that i am strong enough and disciplined enough to make this work, it's a really great feeling when your mind can control your impulses. 5. Knowing that i am going to be so much healthier, and will be able to enjoy better quality time with my family and friends. 6. And of course the men that are checking me out is a blast, lol. and these are just a few, do i want to succomb sometimes, absolutely. but giving in is not an option for me. there's too much at stake. i owe myself all the happiness and liveliness i can give me and for the first time in my life ive found a way to conquer the uncontrollable, excessive eating i used to do. For me failing is not an option, right about now, i love me just a lil too much.

| End of shift and I'm feeling SO much better for not having given in! I'm going to go home, have a nice omlette, and take the dogs for a walk before it rains. :cook:
