Default Carb Away

I found these carb away chews and tried taking them before each meal. I have lost a pound after being stalled for weeks. What do you all think of them? I don't plan on pigging out and putting myself in harms way with them, but it is nice to have something to help out. They don't constipate you that's for sure. They say they ar 3 carbs each, and I have not been counting them. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get them? I've seen the carb blockers, but they were all tablets.

IMO, aside from vitamins, avoid any pills that are not medically necessary. They all have side effects. You may not know them, you may not feel them, but they can, do, and will effect your body in some way.

I think there is a distinction to be made here...

Mrsnotso, are you talking about a low carb snack produced by Zambetti's Carb Away Products? If so, I'd just look at the nutritional label and see how many carbs versus sugar alcohols (if any) are in them, and ingest accordingly.

If you're talking about Carb-Away Low Carb Blockers (pill form), those are made by a different company and I'd be wary of any low carb blocker.

I couldn't find any online info for the low carb chews you're talking about, but did find an address for the low carb snacks at:

Zambetti's, 196 South Main Street, New York City, phone (845)634-2553

And the carb blocker info is:

Carb Away products, Inc., and they list New City, NY, 10956, and Boyton Beach, FL, 33436.

My vote about the carb blockers, however, is a resounding no.

Mrsnotso,
We need a little more info here; exactly what is this product? I could not find anything online for them, either.

And, I have to side with April here. Carb blockers may be ok for a special situation, but taken everyday...NOT a good idea, IMHO.

My information was a little wrong. The product is Starch Away. The Box is lime green with pink letters. It says on front, New Diet Sensation! Blocks Calories from Bread, Pasta, Potatoes $ Other Starchy Foods - Stimulant-Free. Citrus flavored. It has a white kidney bean extract and has 4 carbs and 3 sugars. Marketed By: Leiner Health Products in Carson, CA 90745. Web address - www.starchaway.com Hopefully this will help make it more clear. Thanks again all!

I bought this product on Sat., and I really like it. I eat a couple of them a day. I like the way they taste and they are chewy (something like a Star Burst candy). These would not be worth it if you were on induction, but I have lost a pound everyday this week. I was up from my sig weight. I must stress that I have not taken them and ate a whole cake or anything like that. I still stay eating LC, but I just wanted to try something that may give me an extra boost.

Whats on the ingredient list, exactly? Many of those things were basically sugar-sweetened chewing gum with a little white bean extract. This made exactly ZERO sense to me. But, whatever works for you. I'd stress caution as well, though.
