Default Up a half pound and still in deep ketosis????

Hi all,
I weighed first thing this morning and did not get a big loss like I expected. I have been in deep purple ketosis all week and have been eating real well and exercising.
I gained a half pound...which I know is not a big deal...but I expected to lose again this week with the ketosis and eating/exercising so I am disappointed.

It could be that I am approaching my TOM....or I am wondering if it could be the JennyO turkey loaf I had for dinner last night.

Would have a slice of that at about 7pm last night have affected my weight as early at this morning?????

HELP,
Kristin

Sunday morning I weighed 222.
Yesterday morning I weighed 214.

I'm testing for ketosis and the strip is dark purple.

This morning I weighed 217.

Am I upset? Worried? Not in the least. I know I'm eating clean, nothing off plan, and the weight this morning is just a fluctuation.

I've said it many times..........daily weight fluctuations can be irritating and discouraging. Do not trust daily weigh-ins. It's best to weigh once per month -- once per week, if you must -- and you can trust those weights.

Just my two cents...

Thanks for the timely reminder April. I sure needed that today (as my scale inexplicably sprung upward)!

Angry Re: Up a half pound and still in deep ketosis????

I only weigh on Fridays...first thing at the same time. I do not weigh everyday. If I was to weigh every day have be up a few lbs or down a few..I would not count that.

But weighing once a week is a good measure of loss/gain. But since I only weigh weekly...I do count this half pound.

It also might interest you to know that some LC gurus don't think that the color of your Ketostix matters much. If you are in ketosis, you are in ketosis, whether the tests is registering light pink or deep purple. However, the deep purple might be an indicator that you are not drinking enough water. If you KNOW you are drinking plenty of water, then don't worry about it. But if you aren't drinking enough water, know that the deep purple color could mean that your body needs more water!

a note on those Jenny O turkey loaf..its heavly salted and extreamly processed... try just roasting turkey breast or a small turkey and save leftovers protioned out in freezer

also up your water in take since you are nearing your TOM... it will help move things threw

I am drinking around 100oz of water per day. The reason I point out the dark purple sticks is that they just changed to this color in the last week...when I had a big whoosh of 4lbs last Friday.

I think it must have been the Turkey loaf. That is the only thing I can think of that I ate this week that was salty...and could have caused a few pound water gain.....but could it have affected me overnight is my question???

Until Thursday dinner I had eaten all good foods....was exercising and drinking lots and getting dark purple sticks.

I'll weigh again in a few days to see if I am down again...or I may just wait until next Friday.

Thanks all,
Kristin
