| I have now lost 34 pounds, people are starting to really comment about my loss (the change from bulky sweaters to more fitted shirts helps too) I thought I would like all of the attention....but now I am not so sure. I mean it is nice to look better but I am beginning to realize that I really kindof melted into the background at my heaviest weight. Being the center of attention seems to be a problem for me. It is really strange I guess that is how I managed to put on so much. It is just plain weird! |

| It's not weird, in fact it's kind of normal. You are changing into a "new you". It takes time for both the mind and the body to adjust. Don't stop because you have received positive feedback. Give your self some time to adjust to your new image. You may find that you will like being out of the background. (As a side note: most of the times we "feel like the center of attention" we are only the center of our own attentions. Other people are too worried about themselves to give that spotlight over to anyone else.) |

| I love to be the center of attention! I guess I am too much the athlete--coach always told us that if no one knew our name we weren't working hard enough on the floor--it took a long time for me to get to the point I am now though--used to panic just to ahve to walk in front of a crowd of people to sit down--now I teach and can speak in front of large groups of colleagues or strangers with no problem--Speach team helped that some--but playing sports made the most difference! Give yourself time! Youa re changing and so is your body and so may your personality a bit! Get used to the new you and see if you don't find some confidence too!

| i do that too... i'd rather just blend in than to be center stage. I hope to get over it and gain more confidence. it's like any attention is too much... we have to get used to good attention, that's good! |

| Wow, its funny u say that, because i used to love to be the center of attn, i still do, but sometimes it can get overwhelming. because you the usual questions that you have to answer over and over. are u losing weight? how much have u lost? can u give me pointers? how long did it take? what motivated u to lose weight? and so on and so on. the questions are so repititious. i guess it depends if ive had enough sleep the night before if i want to deal it, lol.
