Default Viactiv Calcium chews

Does anyone use these as a way to get their calcium? How many carbs are there?

I have not had any dairy besides cheese for four months and I am worried about my bone health.

I am not good at taking supplements...but I would take the Viactiv as I used to use them and love them.

Thanks
Kristin

Kristin,

My roommate (non-lc'er) takes two chews everyday. They have 4g of sugar each. Yesterday, I took one and immediately noticed the spike in my blood sugar. If you can, try LC yogurt or a multi --

You can go here to view the nutritional info on this product.

They are nothing but a candy, sugar and all, in my opinion. Most decidely not a choice for a low carb way of life. Corn syrup is the first ingredient and there's 3 sugars per piece.

If you want calcium, take 1,200mg of a calcium supplement each day. I do, and have been for years. I buy the generic calcium at Kroger. It's cheap.

But don't use the Viactiv. It's just a piece of candy with calcium thrown in.

My two cents.......

Thanks for the info.

I do eat a 6oz or 8oz LC yogurt each day for breakfast. Is that enough calcium for a day?

I don't think so. The minimum RDA ammount is 1000 mg if I remember correctly. I would defenitely recomend a supplement.
