| I've been stuck since last fall.. I need/want to lose that last 10 lbs. Some of you have made it to goal. Do you have any words of wisdom? Should I do induction again?? I've eaten low carb all along, only falling off the plan a couple of times. However, I probably have over eaten calorie wise or low carb junk Did you reduce your calories.??? Carbs?? I think this may have been another thread, but I couldn't find it this evening when I looked for it. Thanks... the advice here is always good. Berta |

| Berta I'm sorry about your stall. That's a long time to be trying and not getting anywhere. have you been using a Food journal/calculator like www.fitday.com? If you have post a few days totals and let's see where you might be able to tweak this woe. If you haven't benn using one then post a few days menus. You can beat this stall. If you post menus please include portion sizes. |

| Are you sure your goal is realistic? Maybe your bod likes the weight it's at, and that can create a challenge. Mine seems to do its own thing no matter what. It's taken 12 weeks to lose the last 10 pounds I've lost, and I still have 6 to go! For me, being this close may be close enough. I'm focusing on my workouts now, making sure I don't stray too far from the WOE, and enjoying my newfound strength (and new clothes). It seems like as soon as I got to the magic BMI 24, things screeched almost to a halt, and I've been fighting my own butt tooth & nail ever since. Don't forget to congratulate yourself on how far you've come, instead of getting down about what's left to go. Think of this - you know you can maintain your loss, since you've been at the same weight for a while. That's a good thing. You're doing great! Stacie 222/146/140 |

| I don't know if you have tried these things, but... 1. As you probably know, those low carb treats cause stalls in many people. If you try to eat clean (ie only natural foods, no low carb synthetics) that may help break your stall. 2. I have heard from many people that when they are at the last 10 pounds, they have to count calories as well as carbs. This might be something to try. 3. Going back to induction can sometimes help you start loosing again. I went back to induction about a month ago and I lost about 9 pounds. This can also be a good way of getting your body off those low carb treats and eating clean again. 4. Some people might require the exact opposite, more carbs. If these carbs and calories are too low, your body might go into starvation mode. So this is something else to be careful of. HTH

| Berta, Great responses above... The only thing I can add is that yes the last few are the hardest. I would recommend burning more calories.

| I appreciate your responses. Rob, I think you may have hit it, I haven't been tracking in the last few weeks. I also, have been eating that wonderful low carb ice cream. Exercise---I've been working out since last November, weight training, eliptical (?), treadmill 3 times a week. Thanks, I'm going to try the tracking again, and cutting out the treats. Surely, this last 10 lbs will go away, all ten pounds is around the middle.... Again thanks, if anyone else has any ideas let me know. Berta |

| I am at a leval that I am happy with, but I am constantly trying to lose a pound or two to keep it there... when I have a problem I found by uping the carbs a day or so, then going back to induction, it brings me right back down to where Iwant to be. And I understand about that wonderful Ice cream... lol.. I have the same problem. I love the stuff, but so far, I'm not pigging out on it,,, thank goodness!

| I've been "stuck" for about a year at a weight at least 10 lbs. higher than my supposed goal. But you know what? STAYING THE SAME is quite an achievement for me! At the age of 57, I think my body has assumed its genetically-programmed size and shape. I exercise daily, eat consciously (and low-carbly) and never relapse into thinking that I can fall back into old habits. Low Carb has given me the gift of a sustainable lifestyle. The weight "goal" has lost its charm, and the pleasure of fitting into last season's clothes is a joy I embrace. Give yourself credit. Enjoy the journey. Best Wishes! |
