Default The "New Me" Is Emerging

I've lived years with the wonderment of what the me under all this weight would look like. I know my own features...but still many must be masked under this overweight frame. I've been fortunate in my life to hear people compliment me on my beauty, skin and other features...but yet never 100% fully believed it in myself. Always questioning and hoping that perhaps one day I can measure up to society's standards. Always relying on my personality and caring nature to guide me through life.

Then last night arrived. I was walking through out hallway where we have a small mirror and something caught my eye. It was the glimpse of my neck attached to a more healthy looking shoulder. Not an area full of fat cells that typically made me look the other way in denial.

Then there was the moment today at work. I was helping a resident whom I was extremely proud of and glanced up as he shaved to see myself in the mirror. My dimples once again making their presence known. The slight tannish color from the pool this weekend. The healthy skin glowing from the water my body is finally receiving. And even I had to do a second look to see the true beauty I do possess.

For the first time in my 33 years of existence....I saw the beauty every one else sees. Odd part for me was though, it didn't take me making my weight loss goal to see it. I simply needed to be confident in myself in order to BE myself.

I had that happen a couple of months ago--caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and didn't realize it was me in the mirror for a few seconds. Looked for someone else standing there--I still see many imperfections, but they are getting fewer as the weeks go by!

Congratulations on your revelation!!!!!

Wow, that was really motivational and great to read. You know with weight loss being only one of the great benefits of this WOE it's just so great to finally be free of the entrapment that bad eating habits holds over you.
