Default A Good Thing

Not a big one, but good.

I put on my shorts from last summer and they're so loose I'll have to get new ones. Since I only wear them in the summer it's an accurate indication of how much I've lost since then. Not a lot of pounds...but enough to make a difference.

I went on vacation for almost two weeks and did eat off plan a bit. I was glad when I came back that I didn't gain anything. Mostly I resisted temptation, though. When other people were having ice cream, I had an Italian soda. I gave in on a few things, but I preferred to eat right whenever I could because it does make me feel better.

Congrats on the shorts.

It's great that you stuck (mostly) to the woe during your trip.

The shorts is a good reminder of how far you have come, so when you feel like bingeing or gettng off-track, remember the shorts.

I think it's ok to have treats as long as they are in moderation. It's truly difficult to travel and not indulge even just a little. What's important is that you recognize how great you feel when you eat LC. I honestly think you are on the right track. Congratulations and keep up the good work.

I weighed this morning and I'm down 20 pounds. It took me forever and a half to do it, but it's a start.

Thank you. That's very nice. I have 48 more pounds to go, but it doesn't sound as impossible as it used to.

Terra, that's great!!! I was just thinking to myself that my weight loss was not that noticeable and I had such a long way to go. Then I saw some pictures from this time last year. Only 25-30 lbs difference, but what a difference in the pictures! And the clothes. Very motivating.

That's so true about feeling better eating this way so why go off on vacation. I battle with that myself. Sometimes I do ok and sometimes not. I agree, the best strategy for vacation is to mostly eat lc and only go off for a now and then treat that you REALLY want. Don't use the vacation as a reason to eat crap that you don't even really want to eat - you THINK you do, but you really don't.

Congrats to you!

Great work Terra. Sometimes we get so focused on reaching a certain weight, we forget to look back at how far we've come.

Good point Marcie, "We think we do but we don't." Well said and true.

I only go on vacation once a year, so I wasn't too worried about it.
