Default great thought i got on goddess's website...

something about her wondering just what her STYLE would BE when she could buy anything in regular sizes... made me wonder about myself... well... i started thinking... what IS my style? ... i dont think i even know at this point... i THOUGHT i liked suit type jackets and skirts... hmmmmm nawwwwwwwwww really just liked the way they could be left open to feel comforable... thought i liked to wear sweat shirts... the bigger the better... naw... i just liked the way they covered all the lumps and bumps..*L*.. thought i liked long sleeved tops.... nope.. just seems that they too covered huge arms....thought i liked alot of dark colors... you guessed it.. i DONT.. i guess i just wanted to blend into the background...
ANYWHO.. thanks GODDESS for giving me something to think about... i THINK i like fitted little tops.. and denim shorts. but dont hold me to it..*LOL*
p.s. i think i would like to wear those nylong jogging pants that nike has... and when i get small enough that people walking by me know it is the nylon swishing and not my legs rubbing together.. i just might REVISIT them,,*grin*

Yeah, I know what you mean! I also have been contemplating just what my actual "style" IS . I keep browsing catalogs, and thinking, "Do I like this,... or so I like THIS ?"
I also found that I am wearing clothing that has more to do with my size than my preferrence for style.
Still not really sure exactly what I really like, but I decided that I DO NOT want to buy any more of those sleeveless, long, no shape dresses, with a shirt or cotton jacket over it, that have been my summer 'uniform' for several years now.
Can't wait to be able to buy clothes because I like them, and not because they will hide my fat! (as if they did, lol)
When I reach my goal weight, I am thinking more along the lines of fitted (not tight, just not baggy) I think I will likely preferr attention-getting styles, as that is what I tended toward before all the weight.......although, I was pretty young, so who knows what I wear as a 'responsible' adult, lol!

YEAH,,, kinda odd isnt it... to not even REMEMBER what i really liked to wear... i had seen goddess's website where i got the original thought... but then at lunch i saw a lady in a HUGE sweatshirt. and baggy baggy leggings... ewwwwwwwwwwwww and she was pretty thin.. it made her look ENORMOUS...and i started thinkin about it again... hmmmmm shes thin and she must WANT to wear that baggy stuff... would I???? it occured to me that since i am only 5'2 long baggy stuff makes me look soooooooooooo short and dumpy... so no.. i think i much prefer the tops tucked in.. jeans with NO ELASTIC... i hate elastic.. and belts... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh the simple pleasure of a BELT/.. i had so forgotton how much i love having a belt...nice cute belts.. and so finally.. i bought one a few months back... i wore it UNDER my longer shirts... but it was adjustable with chain and BELIEVE me i had it on the last link..*L* but now i tuck things in... and i wear it like it was MEANT to be worn.. i LOVE IT... and when i bought a pair of jeans that CAME with a belt.. welll daaaaaaaaaaaaang if i couldnt actually WEAR it for a change... i always had before tossed em out because they always were too small even tho they SUPPOSEDLY fit the jeans..*L*
anywho... its what i am really enjoying now.. BELTS!

What a great thread!
I always favored the "earth goddess" look, long flowing skirts and tops, batik, earth colors, you know, that stuff that the tag says "One Size" and "Made in India". I still love it, I still wear it.
But a part of me I thought was gone has come out. . . I was a teenager in the 80s, and I have been loving and buying stuff that has that same feel. I'm really into the whole pink & black thing, Madonna bracelets, spiky hair, those belts with the pyramid studs on them. Some of the saleskids in a store down the mall from mine call me "that punk rock lady".
I'm old enough to dress in a manner to amuse myself! My current favorite outfit: Screaming red Dickies pants, with a PINK tshirt and my black studded belt. Hair standing straight up, of course.
Heeeheeeheee!

Oh this is too fun!!! I haven't thought too much in depth about my "style" except to not want to look like a frumpy old granny anymore. I'm wearing tight jeans now and showing off my skinny hiney. I LOVE it!!!! I even tuck my shirt in now, ALL the time!!! I want to spike my hair a bit, but I'm chicken. I should anyway, what the heck. I just have to get some gel. I need to start wearing my BIG dangly earrings again. I'm really liking the stylish clothing choices now, instead of the frumpy garbage choices I used to have. Isn't it great??!!

I too have been thinking about style, but partly becasue I really like jeans with shirts tucked in and I LOVE sweatshirts that are too big, not becasue they hide things,b ut becasue they are comfortable wehn they only touch your shoulders!!! I like chino style pants and a polo or camp shirt again tucked in but often under a biggie sweatshirt. I like high top tennis shoes untied/laced loose with knots at the end of the strings to keep them from coming unlaced totally. Most I like jeans and denim shorts that fit. I don't mind elastic at the waist--but not all the way around, just at the sides. I have gone from a 22 jeans to a 16/18 depending on the pants and I look and feel better. I want to get down to around an 8/ 10 then see where I am and how I feel.

When I get down where I want to be - my new style will be LEATHER!!!
We are enjoying the motorcyle life more these days, and I have always been self concious around the leather crowd. But one of these days, I will be able to fit into normal sizes and get some nice things that I don't look bad in.

Summer style - shorts are better now than in previous years.

Wink Re: great thought i got on goddess's website...

The biggest change in my 'style' is to include bright colors now. I'm not sure if that's just weight loss or the total transition my life has undergone, but I'm loving it! There was a time in the not too distant past that my entire wardrobe was navy, black or brown. BOOOOOOORING!!!

A great example of the brighter me is the shirt I'm wearing in that avatar pic<G>... I'd never have worn that before... or felt comfortable hamming it up for the camera in a 'rocker' wig :silly: ... and at the office, no less

I like the look of belted chinos and a tucked in polo. We used to call that the preppie-look. I really like the tailored, neat, put together look. But I also think it'd be really cool to be able to wear one of those super-slinky dresses with a hem up to there and a neckline down to ... where ever. Make Hubby's eyes pop just a little<G>.

I like the Guess miniskirt I've been saving for the last 19 years. The 80's are back and as of today I can wear it! Yahoooo!

Not sure if my style will change... I like linen shirts and jeans (great for the tropical Florida weather) I do know that I will buy more white pants and jeans--I hate white now cuz it hides NOTHING!!
