| Well, I have to say that although I have lost 26 lbs in the past 3 months, my loss has slowed way down lately. Although I am somewhat discouraged, it has made me think about some things. Here's what I know is happening: 1) carb creep. I have been in OWL for about 1.5 months now and I notice that I am measuring food less frequently, my salads are growing, I am nibbling while I'm cooking--all things i never did in my first weeks on the woe. I am not keeping track of my carbs on a daily basis, and I could not tell you what my CCLL is. I can see the results of this vagueness, too! 2) water. I have not been drinking nearly the water I did when I started. I was a devout 1/2 my weight in water ounces girl, but some changes in my daily routine have made that less easy. I often drink only 48-50 oz now. 3) exercise. When i began, i was walking 30 minutes a day, every day. I was flying on the newfound energy high. Now that it has sort of worn off and become "regular" I find it more difficult to haul my butt out of bed every morning and walk. So my exercise has been very hit and miss lately. 4) sugar free candy. Yikes! You would not believe the variety of sugar free products that are out now and I have had to sample many of them. I dont think they are stalling me but I dont think they are helping me either. 5) lack of variety. I am in a food rut, tired of eggs and bacon and ground turkey and fish and ranch dressing. I know there are other things I can add and different ways of doing things, I juist haven't. So, I commit here that I will --count my carbs, every day, and determine my CCLL --drink my water, at least 100 oz a day --exercise AT LEAST 5 of 7 days --use the sugar free candy as an occassional treat that I buy one of at a time, not keep them in the house --make it a point to find some new recipes and try them. Thanks for witnessing my renewed commitment. I will let you know how it goes. I appreciate all the support I find here!

| renee, this is great!! so many of us start to "drift" after a couple months on this WOE. not cheating or falling off the wagon, but losing focus. i am the same on all of your 5 points, except the exercise. that's the one thing i've remained strong on. i'll join you on your renewed commitment! check out this thread .... http://www.lowcarbeating.com/bb/show...ht=month+slump

| I agree with Carrie. I think we all have these problems from time to time. It is good that you are confronting them directly.

| Jooneezgrl, you hit the nail on the head.... without even knowing, many lc'ers start letting go of their committment to this WOE. I too have been there. I had to get on the stick and write everything down, see what I was eating, when I was eating, and what I was eating that I didn't need. After two weeks of being dilligent, I lost 2 lbs, and am back to losing about 1 lb a week. Water also was something that I have to force myself to drink, I can get in about 2 quarts in the am at the gym, but the other two quarts, I am having trouble with. So, I make myself drink another one at work in the afternoon, then I only have one more to drink in the evening at home. I don't have any trouble with my veggies and my salads, but I want to munch sometimes, and have a hard time figuring out what to munch on.... its not very often, but every now and then....Exercise - I am good about going to the gym 6 days a week, no problem there, I don't buy the sugar free stuff, my theory is that if I really want something sweet, I get the real thing and eat it and be done with it (and that is not very often these days.) You have made great strides in your 26 lb loss, keep at it and you will succeed, especially with your renewed committment.

| Renee, GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! You have the right attitude!!! After doing this for a year and 2 months now, I know I've gotten lax in my counting of carbs, but I'm okay with that. It drove me nuts to count every little carb in the beginning. I probably should do it again. (it's just such a drudgery) I also get very lax in my water consumption..........especially if I'm out-and-about. When I have to go.............I HAVE TO GO!!!! So I drink most of my water when I am at home. When I'm out, I just sip it. (I'm chugging some right now!!!!

| Carolyn strikes again! As I read Renee's opening thread, I was thinking that, too! Writing everything down is a real eye-opener! I used to do that, but now, during the day, I take do a mental rundown of what I've eaten so far. Sometimes that's enough to keep me from eating a few more nuts or adding cheese to my salad, etc. I wrote myself a daily guideline, outlining emotional and physical things I needed to be aware of daily...as soon as I figure out how to convert it from it's present form (Microsoft Word Document and Rich Text Doc.), I will post it here. It seems so hard to keep all our lowcarb ducks in a row! Carb amounts, water, exercise, supplements, etc. So, seeing it in list form helps me with hitting my targets daily.
