| Or were you doing Atkins and converted to SBD. I pondering the thought of switching to SBD because of more variety. Any tips from people who have done it? |

| More variety, what are you missing.... i am eating lots of veggies, fruit, occassional LCbreads/tortillas/ meat, what kind of variety are you talking about, there is lots of variety in Atkins, How about posting a couple of days of menus and lets see where you are. Also, how much to lose, how much have you lost, and how many carbs per day are you eating.

| Everyone has different food preferences. Atkins has worked for me. There was no SBD when I started this way of life, but even if there had been, I doubt I would have been tempted since I find the food choices in the Atkins plan to be more satisfying than SBD. For instance, I'd rather have some lox wrapped around a piece of real cream cheese than a bagel with "fat free" stuff on it. (my BGL's like it better, too.) I really dislike the fat-free dairy products. Butter and cream are staples for me. So here I stay. It's really a very individual choice.

| Funny note...SBD stand for a type of Navy dive bomber from WWII. Since all my other effort at weight loss "bombed", you could say that I did try SBD!

| Never tried SBD...heard about it, read about it, talked with people who had done it - some of them liked it and succeeded, others said it was too difficult in the beginning - but for me, have no desire to eat that low-fat food. Usually, the fat is taken away and sugar is added...that's why I prefer Atkins over SBD...much more fulfilling! In the magazine Taste for Life, there is an article that talks about 3 of the lc plans...Atkins, The Fat Flush Plan and SBD...it talks about the different phases, legal cheats, what supplements to take, no-no's, etc...might want to pick it up (free at Health Food Stores) and read it if you were interested in any of those plans. Currently, I am at 60 g of carbs per day and still shedding... Sheyla |

| never tried the SBD.... doing atkins (with the legal disclaimer of leaded coffee) i dont think i could change to the low fat again... although... i can understand people thinking they might get more fruit and bread and such on it.. i am pretty happy with this WOE and it gets more routine everyday... been on it since january 12 2004... i usually check the SBD thread to see what people are saying about it.. especially if they have been doing atkins and thinking of switching... to each his own... whatever works for bettering ones health works for me! | haven't tried sbd.. but I have done the low fat thing, and it was soooo hard! Constantly hungry... and it was a slow process. I"m an atkins fan for life...I love all the veggies, and meats we are allowed to eat, and I don't miss any of the no-no's at all! I did at first, but once I got past the cravings, I found I had no desire for the things I'm not allowed. Besides, look around you... all those low fat diets have been around for years, so how come if they work so well, we are known as an obese nation????
