Default Fitday Question

I know you've answered this question before, but again another time..

I decided to start using Fitday again. How do you get an accurate count of carbs. It doesn't subtract fiber from the carbs and it won't let me.. How do you manage this??

Thanks,

unfortunately, you have to calculate it yourself. at the top of your daily page, all nutritional info is listed, including fiber. you just have to subtract that total from your carb total.

YIKES! I just put in on FitDay (I had never used it before) all that I have eaten so far today, plus all that I plan to eat (had to customize some things...not 100% sure how to do that yet, but I tried), and I found out that if I don't eat more than planned, I will only be taking in 963 calories today! I know this isn't good! I guess I will have to add something to dinner. I have stopped journaling my food because I was getting obessed about the wrong things (what my journal looked like, what color pen I used, etc.), and I have just been mindful of my eating, but it looks like I need to be mindful in the other direction. I don't think I will use FitDay everyday, but that was an eye-opener!

Work day almost over...YAY! Get to head to BF's DS's baseball game soon! And it's a beautiful day...not much I would rather do than sit outside and take in the game!

mary, are you sure you adjusted your portion sizes accurately?
if so, you have a lot more calories to eat, my dear!

Yes...that's the first thing I double-checked. I think I might actually take this opportunity to enjoy some avocado with dinner...this will be an interesting thing to pay attention to for a while!

Yeah, I've noticed too that if I'm purely concerned with lc'ing, my calorie count is a bit too low for comfort. FitDay helps keep things in perspective, and points out areas you can indulge in more often, like more helpings of veggies.

Same here. When I tracked regularly on Fitday, I never had any problems with calories (cream, nuts, cheese, and mayo took care of that!)

can I ask , Carrie and Caroline, what calorie level are you hitting? I've moved from around 1100 up to 1400-1500 this week. Hoping it helps out - I've gotten away from the cheese (cream and cheddar) - maybe I need to get back to that. I love it, but once I start, hard to stop.
