| I have decided it's a good idea to use the fitday.com I've heard so much about. Well, I've been more daring and have been eating about 1/4-1/2 cup of cooked oatmeal in my day, and an apple with peanut butter as well. Ummm, it was a little painful to see the numbers on paper. The carbs add up so fast. I really think I need to cut out the apple with peanut butter...it's becoming one of those things I feel like I need to have every day. I don't know if I'm going to be able to add back anything sweet, the cravings just come back too strongly. Anyways, those darn apples...21g carbs in just one! ugh. Shannon |

| Shannon - I buy the smallest apples I can find and only have half. I average about 1 whole apple a month. But in season I eat them about once a week. I eat them with a piece of cheese to lower the Glycemic load. |

| Well, thank goodness i never really cared for apples. Now if i can survive this summer of plentiful watermelons i'll be,ok. But seriously, you may need to focus more on the lower glycemic fruits, and since the berries are now in season, top them with some splenda sweetened whipped cream and my oh my, what a great and easy dessert, that wont wreak havoc on your cravings.

| It's funny you mentioned the berries w/ whipped cream, because I was just thinking today that I have all these frozen blueberries in the freezer and they would go great with some whipped cream. Great idea. I'm going to back off on the apples for sure. What an eye opener that fitday can be!

| I've been eating strawberries like that, but I wonder... from the healthiest to the least healthy, what order should we be eating the different type berries? Aren't strawberrys the most desirable for our diet????

| Any of the berries are good - pretty low carb and full of great vitamins and fiber too!! DH discovered a real treat, if you eat low carb bread - we like the Orowheat brand - we slice up some berries, sweeten with the 0-carb Splenda syrups (you can use DaVinci SF or if you're lucky enough to have any of the Splenda concentrates) or use whatever sweetener you prefer. Let them sit for an hour or two, or just pop them in the fridge. When you're ready for your treat, make some toast, put a little butter on it, then a single layer of the sliced strawberries - OH MY, better than ANY jam!! You can use other berries too but with the "round" berries I smoosh them up a little first so they won't roll off my toast.... Char

| Hmmmm, now that sounds tasty, perhaps toast the bread , add a lil cream cheese and spread those berries on, especially the blackberries, man they are so good, heck all the the berries are good, lol. I'm gonna try that one morning. Thanks for another great low carb idea. Im getting very handy in the kitchen with creativity.
