Cool My scale loves me.......it loves me NOT!!!

I hate scales! Can I shout that from roof tops...write it on billboards. I have to rant real quick here lc friends.
First of all my scales name right on the scale it self reads: THINNER. I swear to you that is the NAME of the scale. I have to tell you that this is a cruel subliminal message! And I have had a few choice OTHER names that I have called that scale..that I don't care to mention. Let's just say none of them "FRIEND."
This morning it read me at 129............I am like...oh that is WRONG...because first of all I am still pretty dang fat for 129 and I could be in the Guiness book of records for losing 101 pounds over night!! I get off step on again...266........hmmm I have gained 137 pounds in 30 seconds...yet another record! I got kid you not.....8 different reads this morning. Since I couldn't put the 129 in my stats next to the 243 and then the starting date of May 10th without seeming completely ludicrious...I weighed in at a friends house an hour later....with a nice scale...that had some sense of empathy and didn't have a crazy name like Thinner....his name was "Sunbeam".....and I was indeed....beaming!!!!

The moral of the story: Don't believe the scale...believe the mirror and the lose clothes.

BTW: Thinner's...days are numbered!!!! HA!! ha!!!
He will be kicked to the curb for a dial model. I can't handle the lies anylonger. We must part.

SO do you weigh in on a dial or digital scale???
And if you have a "thinner" in your life.....get out of the relationship while you can!!!

Hope you liked my humor =o} Gotta have some fun sometimes!!

Mine is a digital sunbeam who has occasional "memory lapses" as well. I usually after 2 or 3 readings get the one I was expecting all along!!! My dh ask las t night if I weighed, I said no--he go for it--usually don't weigh at night--only in the morning before my shower--I stepped on to please him--he asked again did you weight--I said yeah this time--he no way--I am like why???? he says the scale didn' t holler GET OFF this time--must be getting smaller! I hit him when I got into bed! It was cute though--we both had a good laugh!

I have a digital one - big numbers so I can read it! It was friendly this morning. I was beginning to think the numbers were written in indelible ink. But it was nice enough to change down 1# this morning, so it's my bud for right now.

I have a Tanita digital - no body fat baloney on it - just weight. You CAN NOT change that thing's mind (by more than .2 lbs) by any of the usual methods - on/off, weight-shifting, etc!

Weigh ins go faster, since I'm not tempted to try my usual assortment of antics to see if I can get a different number.

I have a Thinner one also but it stays pretty consistant. Did you just get it? If so, I'd take it back for a different one.

I have a Taylor raised dial scale, its does pretty good most days. Only thing is its never calibrated, have to calibrate it with each use, thing is too sensitive, i have to hold my breath so the dial will keep still so i can get an accurate reading.

Thinner and I have been together I would say close to two years. We have never seen number to number. I would like to have a doctor's scale in my house but I know that they are too much money. My sister has one and they are great, if I had more time and she lived closer I would simply use her's.

I want to let everyone know that me and Thinner are over. I didn't even play "taps" for him. I have replaced him with a HEALTHOMETER. Things will be better without him. We needed to part ways, I couldn't take the stress and aggravation any longer. Besides what relationship could last that is simply built on lies. He had his chance to get his numbers straight...and well he didn't.

I got out and I breathe a sigh of relief.

I have had a few bathroom scales over the years, never had one that wouldn't vary. At work, there is a nice triple beam that is very consistent. Unfortunately so has my actual weight been for the last few months.

PQ-> Nice story, I can relate to that some days....

Thanks King of the Road! Nice stats! Kudos to you!!!!
I like humor and thought that I would express that not all scales are created equal and that sometimes we need to laugh it off and move on. I have a mirror and jeans that are too big!

BTW I am down 16 pounds and I am not even through the third week yet!!! YIPEPPEPEPPEPPE!!!! I have remained on Induction. =]
