| I LOVE sunflower seeds! They are quite addicting but I have found the art to eating them without making your lips and tongue feel funny later. Anyhow. There's only 2 carbs in the whole little pack and it takes me all day to eat them most times. And they are a GREAT subsitution for popcorn (for all of you movie-goers who faint at the smell of popcorn)! Anyone else have a Sunflower seed addiction? AND they're cheap! |

| I eat thim in the car mostly--but anywhere really--theya re my favorite driving snack though! I used to eat them til my mouth would have huge sores in it--eventually you get desensitized to the salt and do OK with them! I can eat all day on about 1/2 cup and it takes 3/4 to eat enough to actually eat 1/4 cup of the little seeds. That is 5 gs of carbs and 2 of those are fiber carbs. Gotta LOVE seeds!!! I grew up eating them in the summer playing softball and baseball, didn't know they were healthy too!!!!

| I don't seem to have much trouble with that--but enough water will cure the water retention most of the time--my only exception is TOM and I don't think anythng will cure wter retention then!!!! I have gained 10+ each month the last three. Not to mention been miserable !!!

| It could be a co-winky-dink but I have put on a pound since Monday eating these things. Which is concerning considering that I went back on Induction Monday (another thread). But I also increased my weights in my work outs. So it could be either (salt causing water retention or weight lifting causing water retention in the muscles) or a combination. My ring finger is my gauge too and it was very lose yesterday and somewhat tight today. My water consumption has been off though...been mainly drinking Green Tea sweeten with Splenda. Normally, when I watch/cut my carb intake strictly I immediately drop a few pounds (water) but not this time...

| I don't seem to have a problem with the salt it's really about the only salt I eat eating these things. I don't wear rings so I don't know if I'm even retaining water. How much sodium are you supposed to have a day anyways? I'll deal with the retention though because otherwise I'll munch on some bread |

| Wolfman I think the salt can cause weight gain due to water, but...if you're in true induction, should you be eating seeds?? Just sayin'.

| I knew I would take some heat on that. :silly: The only reason I was eating them is cause I missed breakfast that day. I needed a snack to keep from being famished. (That and they are so addictive!!) I did notice that after that day. I have dropped 1.5 lbs.
