I still lurk around here...just felt I didn't have much to offer now that I'm pregnant. BUT...just got back from the doctor's and she's thrilled I was doing Atkins and has actually suggested I continue!! She'd be fine with that...within moderation of course...as she said "if you didn't gain a pound I'd be fine with that at your weight."

Also, she's concerned about gestational diabetes so my screening will occur 4 weeks before the normal time and again at normal time if all is within limits. I'm also going to have the pleasure of ultrasounds every 3-4 weeks after week 20 due to a procedure I had done years ago.

The only other concern we are facing is the exact EDD for the baby as I only had one TOM since January due to my way of eating throwing it out of whack. So I go in next week for bloodwork and an ultrasound to age the baby.

I'll be having a C-section the 38th week due to a previous C and medical background...so it looks like this will be a December baby.

knowles-glad to see you! and i don't think being preggers keeps you from contributing, dear.

i had gestational diabetes with my pregnancy. they may handle it differently now, but back then they sent me to a nutritionist (which i ignored at the time...lol) and i had to monitor my blood sugar. it was do-able.
