Question Honest Answers Only

I am researching on different kind of pills out there. What I would like to know from the ones ONLY taking or have taken any of the following: Fat Burners, L-Carnitine, L-Glutamine etc. etc. etc...or anything that helps or helped you stop eating sugars or helped stopped fat (hmmmm)....and if it worked or not. Also, while you have been taking them or still take them, how much weight have you lost or, have seen any improvement.

I think this might help a lot of people out there to chose if they should or shouldn't bother with all what's out there.

Thanks guys...I know I am going to get honest answers from you all....

Hi Helene,

I have been taking L-glutamine to help with the sugar cravings. I take it on an empty stomach about an hour before breakfast, then another before lunch (500 mg each). I guess it's working. It may make me a little "gassy?" I don't know if it's that or the eggs in my diet? I have been thinking about switching to L-Carnitine...I've done a lot of research online about it, but am nervous about any side effects. Some people have reported increased blood pressure and rapid heartbeats. I guess the only way to find out is to try it myself.
Again, as far as the L-glutamine, I haven't NOT taken it for a while, so I don't know if the bad cravings will come back.
I am interested in some other honest straight to the point feedback as well, so I'll be checking in.

I also took both the "L" supplements for a while and didn't notice any difference. Right now, I am not taking them, and I am not having any problems with Induction.

i've taken fat burners, l-caratine, and a host of other things. i take the "both barrels" approach: anything that i think may possibly help, i'll all over it! but because i take so many different things, mostly based on whatever i have around at the moment, it's also harder to judge the helpfulness of individual components.

i can speak to various fat-burners, though, since those i can tell the differene generally. i always look at the ingredients, and there are some standard things you'll see from one to another. heck, if you look at the ingredients of atkins accel and the fatburners you see, you'll notice quite a bit of similarity. they seem to be a combination of herbs and such that speed up your metabolism mildly and often have caffiene, so you get a little extra energy.and they do help make you less hungry, or at least they did for me. you'll often see caffiene or kola nut extract

the only real issue i've had is that when i take too many suppliments, and especially atkins accel, on an empty stomach, it makes me a touch queasy.

i've had the xedrine (?), the blue bottle fatburners, i'm taking somethink like extreme metabo-fx or something now, green tea fatburner stuff...it's all kind of the same thing. trimspa, herbolife clones, etc etc.

if you do try any of these, work your way up and avoid having different ones together. otherwise, it can make you feel jittery. i start any new one at one a day, not the suggested dose and work my way to the suggested dose over several days.

i like to read the reviews online. this is the site i've read i think before -

I've never seen any reason to take "fat burners" or any type of weight loss pills except for vitamins. There isn't a miracle cure for fat out there in any pill form to be blunt. I know what I eat is what's going to help me lose the weight, just like what I used to eat and overeat is what made me fat.

I took L-carnitine faithfully for a while when I was concentrating on workouts with weights. Can't say I noticed anything happening that I could attribute to the pills. The weights are a good idea, though!

I use the chronium p .. and it keeps my blood sugar balanced. I also take carb blockers, but ONLY when I splurge and have something fantastic !...which is rare. And I never ever gain more then 2 pounds from it, no matter how many carbs I consume. I simply don't use it daily.

I have used L-Glut. It works great if I break open the capsule and put maybe 1/4 of the powder under my tongue. It stops sugar cravings immediately. I then re-cap it and swallow the rest. If I swallow the whole thing without opening it though, I cannot tell any difference at all.

What does the L-glutamine taste like when you put it under your tongue? Is it bitter? The L-glutamine I have is a tablet, so that wouldn't work for me, but I might seek out capsules if I feel a sugar craving coming on (haven't yet, and I am on day 6 of Induction). But is it gross?

It soesn't really taste like anything. I was afraid that it would be bitter or something worse, but it was not. It did have a yucky texture though. I felt like I was eating thick dirt.
