| I took the birthday cake--about 1/4 of it and dumped it into the garbage can! I wanted a piece of it but since it isn't on induction i had to get it out of the house--DD was irritated but it was getting dry anyway so I had another excuse besides mom wants a piece and can't have one! That was an accomplishment in itself--before now I would never have thrown it out--would have eaten it with milk or ice cream or soemthing else to make it moister and edible. . .this is a major accomplishment for me--even 5 months into this WOE!

| I'm lucky, its just me and hubby here, so if I can't have it, then it isn't allowed in the house...

| There's no greater triumph than that. Throwing stuff out of the house, and out of your life. Good for you!! Lately we've been having endless celebrations of one kind or another at the office--all of them involving major cake. Having to walk past that cake all day tests every resolve. I confess that I have, more than once, picked up a piece. One bite usually releases the demon--and I immediately throw the rest out. That isn't perfect--but what I remember is the ability I have to make a choice. |

| What a great feeling to know that food no longer controls you-but I have to admit I would have had just a bite |

| Good going Lori!! When I first started I would give the forbidden things to my dog until she started getting a weight problem. Now no one is allowed over here with any high carb snacks. Of Course people stopped coming over. |

| DD asked about the cake this evening--I told her we tossed it and she was like--WHY??? I reminded her it was getting dry and she was OK with that! Thankfully! either way, it was not coming back out of the dumpster so there was no real argument there!

| I did the same thing last night! My birthday was Sunday and I was planning on skipping the cake but my daughter Corinne and husband were like "you at least got have a cake on your birthday!" They were'nt trying to sabotage my woe, I guess they just figure tradition. I figured, "hey, this won't be the first or last time I'll be tempted so I might as well face it". Purchased the small pepperidge farm cake and put a candle on it so my daughter could help me blow it out (once is not enough for her...we had to relight it several times...she could care less about the cake, the fun part is blowing out the candle and singing happy birthday over and over. I heard the happy birthday song for about a week before my birthday...kids are so cute!!!). Made a mock danish for myself while they had a slice of cake. Well the thing sat in the fridge for 2 days and they did'nt even touch it! That cake was staring me in the face everytime I opened the fridge, so I covered it with Reynold's wrap instead of plastic wrap, still very tempting!!!! Pre low carb that cake would have been gone, I would have eaten a slice everynight, or maybe even a slice at lunch and after dinner. So anyway, I just threw it out!!!! The only person it was tempting was me....so I tossed it!!! I made it through a birthday without cake...yay!!! Actually, I've gone 2 months without cake...amazing!!!!
