Well, I finally have to admit that the six pounds I gained after I quit smoking are NOT going anywhere anytime soon. So I have changed my sig line.

Jen, congratulations on quitting smoking! That's great! :great: Hang in there. I'm sure it's frustrating, but you'll lose those extra pounds. I'm sure quitting the cigs has helped your health a lot.

Congratulations! When I quit smoking ten years ago I gained 60 in 4 months. So count yourself lucky.

I think that will be my next biggest step.. is to quit smokeing.. i need to get it out of my head that i need to be doing something w/ my mouth.. i do not smoke around my family... (my parents or my children... ) i usualy only smoke at work, or if i go somewhere away from my house.. or if im out side... i find those times when im not smokeing i seem hungry or like i need to be doing something w/ my mouth... i wish i never would have started back up after haveing kido #2.. but i did and now is the trouble of trying to quit agin... when i can loose weight and stop smokeing i will be all a box of joy!

good luck on trying to loose...

i keep having people ask me, ok, now, when are you gonna quit smoking? it drives me nuts, not because they're not right, they are. but i'm also like, dang, can't you just cut me some slack here, what with the weight loss and all?

i tell 'em i want to have some survivors in the house. i'm going to look at the smoking after i'm further along with the weight. in the meantime, i'm cutting back and considering switching to lights.

Ahh, Jen

Don't sweat it...Quitting smoking will do wonders for your health; you have plenty of time to lose that 6lbs. Look how far you've come already! And congratulations on taking another HUGE step for your health.

Jetsy I'm sure you are much better off health-wise and financially. And I like that you are owning up to your sig line too. How long ago since you quit? I wish you luck. I need to quit too.

Jesty, life is a series of choices, each with their consequences and I applaud you on following through on those things you find important.

For me, I haven't come to the place where I desire to quit smoking yet. I did it when I was pregnant, but that was a long time ago. LOL!

I think that, in spite of my having delt with my weight/blood sugar issues, I'm secretly still hoping for a heart attack as opposed to alzheimer's and this is the best way to hedge my bets.
