| Every month for the past 4 months there have been a 10 day period where i would lose no weight at all. I would even gain a couple of lbs for a few days and then drop it right back off. so i thought i had my body all figured out and was mentally prepared to expect this every month. Now this month my body decides to throw me a monkey wrench. the week before my tom ive lost weight and during my tom ive lost weight. dont get me wrong im not complaining at all, heck im glad the old body wants to get wacky on me and pass up some lbs, lol, it needs to this more often. Is there anyone else who's experienced this exact same thing. Because my mind is telling me that im not supposed to be losing weight right now, however my body is having its way and im really loving my body right now.

| I am in oneo fhtose 5-10 day windows right now--I am down a half a pound for the last 6 days--tomorrow makes a week with no loss to speak of! In fact I show back up 2 this morning--I know I am bloated and puffy--I can feel it. . .just can't seem to do anything about it either--OH well--take it and run knowing the next time I do drop it will be a couple of pounds! Always is!

| i've decided that it's totally unpredictable, beyond of course the stuff we directly control like eating and exercise. but the body does what it wants to do. i always figure when i'm in a "losing dry spell" that my body is just adjusting and do my best to ignore it. |

| This happens to me too. It's very frustrating. That's why I tried to weigh only once a week for awhile so I wouldn't get discouraged. And a week before TOM I didn't weigh at all.

| Weight loss is seldom ever a linear process, and what you do today may or may not affect what you see on the scales tomorrow! That's why it's generally recommended NOT to weigh more than once a week, and also to plot your weights out for a trend. Otherwise it can be a very frustrating experience. The better markers for me are the tape measure, how my clothes fit and best of all - how I FEEL! I just don't try to apply logic to the process any more because it doesn't work well with weight loss, IMHO.... Char

| I know its recommended that you should only weigh yourself weekly. But i cant do it, lol, i weigh myself daily, and i dont get discouraged when i do see myself go through the fluctuations, because i know this is part of the process. But i need to know on a daily basis, what adjustment i need to make to my daily eating and so far it has worked to my favor.

| Our bodies are affected in so many ways, and for so many reasons, that sometimes it is hard to figure out what is going on...

| I agree completely with goddess. My body does what it wants to do when it wants to do it. I have long since given up on trying to predict any weight loss pattern.

| I am an admitted scalaholic, but I agree with celest:I don't get discouraged with the fluctuations. I was up a pound this morning, but that's okay...I know I ate right yesterday, but had to skip my walking because of rain, and I don't think I drank enough water. So, I've tried to do better today. Last month, before my TOM, I didn't gain those 2-4 mandatory water-weight pounds that I ALWAYS get! I stayed the same, then, when it began, I actually lost a couple of pounds. I thought that was extremely odd, too! But, I had been doing everything right prior to that and had no PMS symptoms. Not sure what was up with that, but I liked it. Our bodies DO have a mind of their own!
