Well, the dh and I are back now...had a great time and while we were able to stay on plan the first week and walk an hour a day the first week, we both caved in the 2nd week...it was really difficult staying on plan with a dil that cooks just marvelous food plus the gd's 11th bday was that week and we had the cake and ice cream...Mexian food 3 days in a row...I felt icky after that...and yes, I could have opted for the
lc meals that every place had (and I couldn't agree more that Phoenix is one of the top
lc cities - it was everywhere we went) but I lost my willpower and caved in...and when I got home and stepped on the scale, it showed a 13 lb weight gain...whoa! I told someone this and they said there was no way...but I knew I had gained. I could barely squeeze into my size 4's...anyway, I got to thinking and realized that the son cooks with a lot of spices and sodium - and the dh and I are very careful on our sodium intake - so I'm sure some the weight was water retention from eating the higher sodium foods as well...but I got back on plan Sunday and have already lost 9 lbs this week. So I'm now back on track and am really hoping I can stay on track next week when we go over to the coast for a conference my dh has to attend for his work...they are having a bbq the first night we are there so I know I can just eat the hamburgers and maybe they'll have chicken or something like that...would be nice...after losing my willpower, I don't wanna do that again...it got me a 13 lb weight gain - even if some of it was just water retention...
Today, I had 3 eggs and 2 slices of bacon for breakfast and that really made me full! So I know I'm on plan plus I haven't been craving anything sweet today either...tend to have the sugar withdrawal symptoms the first week of a re-induction but not this week....
And that dang mudslide someone had to introduce me, too...I don't like beer or wine - yuk! - but I can tolerate rum somewhat. Just never been a drinker but if it's sweet, I can down it pretty easy...and the mudslide was just sooooo good! And then someone bought me another one! That's probably what got me going the next week....yeah, that's what it was!
But at least I'm back on track down...trekking along...dh is back on track now, too...he packed on 10 lbs and has dropped about 4 of it this week. He just hasn't been as strict as I have been this week.
