| I meant to bring the label with me to put it here for review. I picked up walnuts yesterday and there were 3 carbs and 3g dietary fiber, 0 sugar, and 5g protien I believe. Did I miss something? Or did they just possibly label it wrong? I would take the entire bag and make cinnamon roasted walnuts. |

| Nope, you read the label right. I do think you still need to think about calories, veen though this woe doesn't focus on that.

| I love walnuts. They are my snack of choice when I want a little crunch. I have a bag in my pantry that I am going to use to make some cinnamon walnuts. Even though they are "0 carbs" the calories do count. Believe me, I have overdone it before. Just be aware of the serving size.

| Hmm, I think the label is wrong. According to USDA 1 oz. of Walnuts has 3.89 g. Carb with 1.9 g. fiber. Whilst low in carbs, Walnuts still have them. Reference - http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcom...st_nut_edit.pl

| Red, thanks for posting the link to the USDA website. I've been trying to find it with no luck. Now I finally have it bookmarked. Thanks!

| I was thinking that they do have them but this bag says none. And it's not promoting it in big letters on the bag like ZERO CARBS or anything like that. How many calories should I limit myself to on these? |

| As a snack, I usually limit any nut to one ounce. I think that's about 14 walnut halves or 7 whole walnuts in the shell. I find I can stick to one ounce only if i shell them myself. Takes a while to eat them that way. |

| The label on the walnuts I buy, says 3 grms carbs and 3 grms fiber also. I still count 2 grms of carbs per ounce. I love walnuts, I have a half ounce of toasted walnuts on my salad for lunch everyday. They are so good for you, in moderation of course. |

| I love them too, and they are, unlike other nuts, a great source of Omega-3 oils. I limit them to no more than 1 oz. per day and I count carbs for them. I just don't believe they are 0 carbs! Char

| [Rant on] Stupid food labels. The gov agency that regulates the labeling of food allows too much lattitud IMO. Why, you may ask, well cause that they allow the producer to round down! The rule should be, always round up! Whether the content is .4 or .5 it should always be 1. This would be more helpful to the consumer. But no...They are more interested in helping the evil food producers to hoodwink us in to buying products and be uninformed. [/Rant off] Anyway that is my opinion, I could be wrong.

| I think your right Reddlegg, How in the world can they advertise a product to have 5 or ten calories, and "0" carbs when that product dosen't contain any fat, protein, or fiber ?????? those foods would contain 1 and 2.5 carbs. Diet Jello is a prime example of this kind of deception, although it does contain some protein. thats my rant for the day!!!!!!!! |

| I believe the best labelling change the FDA could make is to force manufacturers to put the counts for the WHOLE package on anything, not just their nefarious serving size.

| I' agree Mikey -- that's how I treat anything I'm likely "not to eat just one" of... I take the counts and times them by the number of servings. That way if I do down the whole bag of pumpkin seeds, at least I knew before hand what I was getting in to!

| I didn't even realize that walnuts were that low, or no carbs. Whichever way you look at it.. I like pecans, but which nut is really the best snack of them all???
