| Wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the cooking forum. What's the best way to store cut up celery? 1. In a baggie? 2. In a container w/a little bit of water at the bottom? 3. In a container w/the celery totally immersed in water? Just curious, because celery seems like a good "on the go" veggie snack, but if I don't have it already cut up I won't take the time to do it (because I'm obviously in a hurry if I need to for "on the go"). Celery w/cream cheese will be so much better for me than pork rinds and cream cheese... and still crunchy. Your thoughts/opinions/experience are much appreciated.

| I usually put it in an air-tight bowl with a little water. But, if someone doesn't eat it in, say, about a week, it gets mushy and brown. Recently, I've taken to cleaning it, cutting it, and storing it in small amounts in small ziplock baggies. That seems to work much better since someone can grab the baggie and munch on the portion size and finish it.

| What works best for me is a wide mouth jar with an inch or two of water in the bottom. I place the cut celery sticks (right side up - that means the way it grows - the part of the stick that would be closest to the bottom of the plant is sitting in the water), then throw a baggie over the tops. They stay very fresh and crisp this way. As a matter of fact, I've completely revived celery that was getting a little limp, by doing this over night.

| I have had great success wrapping cut celery in foil! Simple, but effective! It stays crisp for at least 2 weeks in my experience. |

| Hello~ Recently I started cutting all my vegetables for the week and putting them in ziplock baggies...so far, so good!!!! I've found that I need to have everything readily available so I can throw my salads or quick snacks together easily so I won't be tempted to grab other things. I only buy enough fresh veggies for a week so it really does'nt have time to go bad. Totally agree with you about the celery and cream cheese, stopped buying pork rinds and found that celery is even better with cream cheese!!!! My mother-in law who has a garden, (wish she lived closer)....brings the leafy vegetables in from the garden and wraps them in a slightly damp dishtowel, & stores it in the crisper (she says it keeps things like lettuce/spinach/etc crisp. (I've never tried that though)! Tracy
