| Am I drinking TOO much water here? I have 5 33 oz cups of water a day. Should I try to bring it down a notch? I'm at 186. |

| If you stick to the one ounce for every two pounds of weight, you should be having about 93 ounces of water per day. It's okay to have more than that, but be aware that you can have ill effects if you take in a huge amount of water at one time. I have heard it said that you should not drink more than one liter of water an hour because your body might have trouble assimilating all that water and it might send you out of whack. There have even been (extreme) cases of people dying from drinking too much water...it flooded their cells and really messed up their homeostasis. That being said, they had to drink a HUGE amount of water for that to happen. If you don't have trouble getting that water in and feel good, I wouldn't worry about it. But if you have trouble drinking that much, you can probably cut back without a problem.

| Nah, I only drink water. No soda, no coffee (MAYBE once a week), no nothing. But water. When I go to restuarants with ppl even b4 LC it would DRIVE them insane bc I wouldn't order a soda. I would drink one ONLY when I had pizza and that was....once every other month. MAYBE. Then I would ask, have you ever seen what coca cola can do to a car battery? (takes the acid off) what do you think that does to your insides. Not to mention my friend is ADDICTED and I never want to be addicted to anything that can damage my insides, maybe just make them stick together like....peanut butter. I'm addicted to that! |

| Sorry to go off topic, but it is the carbonation in the soda that removes the acid on a battery. The carbonized water is a base and neturalizes the acid, allowing the water liquid to wash it away. Now a better example is to put a nail in a bottle of Coke...for a few weeks! Cheers,

| I don't think 165 oz. is too much at all. 128 is a gallon and that's a standard for many people. I'm not a nurse or doctor but the way I understand it, you can only drink too much water if you actually FORCE yourself to drink MANY, MANY gallons in a VERY short period of time. 1.5 gallons in a day doesn't come NEAR to qualifying. Perhaps Shelley will chime in. She's our resident nurse!
