if you go to www.olivegarden.com you can enter your zip code it will bring up the olive gardens in your area after clicking on one you can pull up their menue.. hope that helps..

tho it seems like most entre's that dont contain pasta .. have potatos.. "roasted veggies" but they do have salads... that is a tough restraunt to eat at... just becarefull!

www.olivegarden.com has menu listings. It may help you figure out things ahead of time. It looked the the minestrone soup was lower carb. Also this link will give you a bit of information http://www.dwlz.com/Restaurants/olivegarden.html or they have many other restaurants listed.

Newbie here-- I always order the Salmon Piccata. It comes with a side of roasted veggies that include summer squash, zucchini, & red bell peppers. It is delicious.

I was looking at the menus last night, and was hoping the Salmon dish was decent. even if something came with pasta, I would just not eat the pasta - not a problem with me. I'm not worried about the bread anymore either, just not in my tastes.

Thanks Sharron for the article, it helps.
Thanks everyone else for your input. I feel better now.

I know I could go visit their website, but does anyone know offhand the carb count in their Salad Dressing? That's what keeps me away--I love their salad but I am scared of the dressing!

Mary Kay, what did you end up having and how was it?

MaryKay, I went to Olive garden with a friend back in november, and we shared a Mushroom appetizer, had lots of salad, got the tripple cheese stuffed chicken breast (which we split,) and asked for steamed veggies instead of the pasta. Everything was great, I only ate 1/2 of a bread stick, and lots of salad and when the entre came, was almost too full to eat the chicken.
so, they are aware of Low Carbers and will help you eat, tell them not to bring the breadsticks if you can't stand having them around you....

I went to their website and it stinks. I cannot get the main courses to show anything but pictures.

Mary Kay, we went there a few weekends ago for Abby's birthday, and John and I ordered a dish which included grilled chicken breasts sandwiching a mass of melted cheeses. At first, the chicken was so crisp on the outside, I thought it was breaded somehow. But it wasn't. It was simply grilled to perfection. It was delicious. It also came with pasta, but we didn't eat that. We did eat the huge bowl of serve-yourself salad that came to the table.

It was great.

I've been there several times, and its not my favorite restaurant. I had chicken, ignored the pasta and bread sticks, and had salad. I also asked for the salad without any dressing and took a small bottle of my own .One thing about it... you can have plenty of salad, cause its all you can eat.

I too went to the website and it does stink, April. No nutritional information except for their "garden fare" stuff--low fat. Bleh!

It gives me hope that several people here consider the salad "legal". I love their salad but just wasn't sure of the dressing. Not that I go there often, but it was one of my faves before LC. I think I will go back on 6/19 to celebrate 6 mo LCing! Yum!

ok. I had the chicken parmegiana - Parmesan breaded chicken with marinara sauce and melted cheese on top. (that would be what April had).
Had a little serving of the salad (traded the croutons for black olives with my guys (DH, DS). we had the spinach/articoke dip - I used the celery that came with it, and my dinner came with a side of spaghetti and sauce, but DS took that for later.
So, I am full, I feel like I ate quite well on plan.
Course, I ended up paying the bill, and the guys got the mints. bummer. (ok, we stopped at Walgreens on the way home and I got a RS mint - heehee). So, I didn't miss anything.
