Absolutely! I think? It is recommended that it be taken during induction to avoid constipation, that or psyllium husks.

I don't have DANDR in front of me, but I don't think it is legal.

Thank you all so much for your time.

What I really was wanting to know is if she made a recipe with flaxseed meal in it, as long as all the other ingredients were induction legal, would that be something she could have?

Such as this recipe, she would of course have to leave the pecans out.

Betty - According to the USDA website there are about 10 net carbs in a cup of flax seeds. They don't list flax meal but a cup of flax seeds would yield more than a cup of flax meal. But even with the carbs revised upward I don't see why she couldn't have a small slice a day as long as she kept under 20 carbs for the day. If that bread was made with anything other than flax I'd probably advise against it, but flax is so good for you.

Rob-
Thanks, she will be very happy. She was telling me just this morning that she didn't know if she was going to be able to stand this diet without any kind of bread.

I really want her to stick to this diet, her mother and grandmother are both diabetic and have heart problems. Her father died of heart problems when he was in his early 50's. Her mother had quadruple by-pass surgery about 7 years ago and my friend has high cholesterol that she has to take medication for.

She and I have been friends for over 30 years and I would like for her to be around for another 30.
