I was encouraged to post this here. Hope you don't mind. I started this WOE on January 6th 2004. I have been pretty good about following plan and drinking lots of water. Not so good about doing my walking daily but generally feeling like I was doing well. I am quite heavy and have a lot of weight to lose, so I didn't weigh.....not once since I started doing this! I did measure every two weeks tho. Well finally I got the nerve while in Big Lots to step on the scales. I even made my niece get on too to double check that I was seeing things right! I have lost about 82 lbs!!!!!!!!! I am so thrilled. I have at least 100 more to go but I am on the right track. I want to thank everyone who contributes here because your stories matter! I check in daily to keep up on everyone I hadn't dieted in years and was skeptical about this WOE but my mom has successfully kept of about 70 lbs for 2 yrs. I am so glad I tried.
Thanks for listening to me ramble. Best wishes and lots of lost pounds to everyone!
Hugs
Renee

Congrats Kim and Renee!

Anyhow, I think I will be joining this club to. I used to weigh myself everyday on the nice beam scale at work, well, can't do that anymore! My scale at home just gives to many different readings, so I can't trust it.

I just hope with my new lifestyle, I just won't sit around and eat.

Well, some of you may know I'm a hard core every day weigher, but I'm getting better. . . Sometimes I forget to weigh myself, which is a recent development that I find astonishing. And, I have trashed my Excel weight spreadsheet! Liberation! I think I've learned quite a bit from it, but now I know when to expect the fluctuation and not to panic, so I figured there wasn't a whole lot left it could teach me. Got to cut the strings at some point, right?

stacie- that line totally cracked me up. i can relate, woman!

personally, i do track my weight in a computer program (weight-by-date pro), although i refuse to put down anything but losses.

but i have enjoyed seeing my bmi go down in the charts they figure. i'm about to move over from high health risk to moderate health risk! lol plus i can track my measurements, food if i want (w/carb counts), exercise, the whole nine yards. it projects a "goal date" based on my average loss, tells you how much you've lost, what your weekly average is, etc etc. so when things slow up, i can get some perspective looking over the long term picture.

to each their own!

it IS astonishing... BUT isnt it cool? :-) i USED to weigh everyday when i did lo cal diets years ago... everything centered on that little flashing number... moods DEPENDED on that number being GOOD..*L*... well... since i have noticed that inches mean MUCH more to me than a number... i am not tempted to weigh every day.. week OR month... i DID have my PA write down the weights they had for the past two years... to see if they coincided with any emotional or health issues... and thats when i found out that my loss so far had been 50 lbs... otherwise i was pretty content to just know that my new jeans fit..*L*... of course NOW the moods depend on whether the JEANS fit the same or not..*L*... anywho.. continued success to you all .. WHATever way you do this.. weigh.. not weigh.. its all up to the individual.. and god knows that from reading this forum everyday.. we ALL are individuals.. aint it great? :-)
