wow this was a great thread... i actualy got dh to listen as i read most peoples threads outloud... My dh isnt a lowcarber but he is a meat lover.... and he said that he wonders how he keeps his genius iq when he eats such low amounts of carbs... since i went on this wol he has more than cut in 1/2 the amount of carbs he takes in beacuse i dont make it for him..

That has to be the stupidest thing i have ever heard of.

"Your brain evidently needs 140 grams of carb per day, just to fend off its own impending implosion. And it's no good for long term, because you will die of excessive bacon consumption long before you can enjoy the benefits of your weight loss."

Pity the poor Innuit (eskimo) population, who thrived generation after generation on mostly fat and some protein, not knowing they had been brain dead for centuries.....

140grams of carbs for the brain alone, 140/5 = 28 teaspoons of sugar/day.

Now, if this is fact and not a number snatched from the sky, surgeons performing gastric by pass surgery are potential murders, because knowingly restricting food to an eggcup full/meal is intent to murder by starvation, (the expert warned them that the brain will implode). Just a thought.

So, if you're like, really, really smart, should you eat more than 140 carbs a day, like, maybe 150 or 160 carbs? And how much of that should be rocky road ice cream?

How many carbs would Stephen Hawking need? Could GW bush get by with induction levels?

mmmm.

Beef brisket with red wine gravy over cabbage noodles.

Anyhow, the more and more they come out with all these foolish reports, the less believable they all become to the common viewer (as long as their brain had enough carbs to realize it).

I have to applaud Doctor Insomnia (bravo, bravo). I loved the GW comment!! I'm not even sure he would need the whole 20, maybe just 5 or so.

I really don't understand why people want to bash LC so much, but we should just show them that they are all wrong and stay on course!!
